Melvins - Lysol [a.k.a. S/T] (1992)

Hung Bunny, Roman Bird Dog, Sacrifice (Flipper), Second
Coming (Alice Cooper), The Ballad of Dwight Fry (Alice
Cooper), With Teeth

total time: 31:21

starts with doom/sludge drone à la Earth or SunnO))), then
flows into more and more song-y music. all tracks are
combined into one big track. great stuff. too bad it is so
short..! 4.5/5

Daisy Chainsaw - Eleventeen (1992)

4.5/5 as well... totally different style but also great (and
also a bit too short). noisy guitars, punk-indie-pop with
lovely childish-evil-crazy female vocals.

Neutral Milk Hotel - "On Every Island"

2.1/5
Not bad but not as good as their first album. It's my first
listening though so i'll probably change my mind.

Osanna- Milano Calibro 9- 4/5

Vaguely Gothy orchestral prog from '72, a beast of a
drummer, he's righteous! Best album I've heard in a few
weeks.

Boris - Akuma No Uta

short album, with a very good doomesque intro and then a few
rock songs. ?????? (well, track 5... since this will most
likely appear as "??????" when i post it anyway) is really
excellent. but all in all, the band has done better works
(aaah, Feedbacker...) and i wouldn't say it's a must-have.

3.25/5

listened to yesterday:

• Air - 10 000 Hz Legend
4.9/5, my favourite album by them so far. only "Caramel
Prisoner" is a bit weak.

• GusGus - This Is Normal
4/5, doesn't sound as good as Polydistortion and is more
poppy... but still, i like it very much

• Akira Rabelais - Spellewauerynsherde
3/5, but this probably needs some more listens.

Favorite 'bum of th emoment: Prince- Controversy

5/5, I'd take this before 1999, Sign O the Times and Purple
Rain. Jesus God I can't stand listening to Private Joy and
the title track, it's just toooooo superfunkycalifragisexy.

the cure - mixed up - 4.51729/5

this is an old favorite which i always put on. some of the
mixes give these songs a whole new life. it pretty much
always hits the spot.

its time to keep an eye open for some melvins albums, the
name is always popping up from good places so it could be a
sign.

King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King

4/5.

the first three tracks are perfect... too bad about the long
filler at the end of Moonchild (come on, it's kinda nice but
it's as filler-y as it gets!). (and -just in my opinion- the
last track whose chorus i don't like that much, and the
kinda gut-wrenching cover art, but ok, i'm bitching.) apart
from that it really is a very solid and good album...
well... i guess most of you have heard it already anyway. :
