Those of you at the warp pool party a couple of years back
may recall the killer visuals provided by Mr. Minter. These
were to form the basis of a GC game done with Lionhead
studios called 'Unity'. Sadly that project was canned.

Now, however, Microsoft have bought the rights to use the
latest (vastly superior) incarnation of his software on the
Xbox 360 and it looks stunning:

Check it.

It looks stunning. About bloody time the originator of all
the milkdrop/geiss type visualisation proggies got some
recognition!

Looks like the answers to my questions are "no" and "no".

Correct on both accounts.

how long can you watch one of these? I always turn them off
whenever possible because I find them annoying... also if
I'm at a gig simply showing a visualisation thingie as
"background" it does NOT get a +.

they're pretty good to have in the background when canning
with a bunch of mates.

a party with constant visualisation plugins in one room
would just turn out with one empty room.. at least among my
friends.

Agreed. There's nothing quite like sitting and watching one
when you're wrecked.

it'd just make me excessively annoyed and prone to
violence...

the awesome thing about this is that it's "analog"

I don't fully understand what he means by that either, but
apparantly everyone can pick up a control and start fucking
with numerous settings on the vis and "collaborate" in real
time to effect the funkiness
