well it was those two comments (and I think some more but I
am not sure) in the space of two hours... and by that time
you had half the points

and those comments were directed to some people that are not
know for spamming at all

aesthetics is one of the better members around here... with
always interesting views and opinions on any matter

and me, well... I am not the one to talk about me, but I
think I am not know for spamming the board... or so I
think... maybe I think too much of myself

I think it was in a thread you did called: popcorn, I posted
a lonely: r2d2
and the connection is clear... it was an innocent joke
really... and you answered something like: I know how you
got 25k points
well in that case I invite you t read my 25000 posts... I am
sure you will find some thousands of nonsense.... but I am
also sure you ll find like a great % is normal chatting
about whatever

then aesthetics also made a commet, I dont know what it
was... it was in your early electronic thread... but the
fact is that you were bothered for what he posted and you
acused him of the same I think

that attitude of you... like so defensive and aggressive at
some point is gonna bring you trouble believe me... but its
up to you

look how you answered to anus presley now... and he is one
of the most respected people around here... but you come
here as if you knew it all from us and say those things you
said to him for example

I dont know... i think you are a litte above yourself

you can listen to me if oyu are humble enough or you can
keep that attitude... it wont let you be here for too long
though

to be honest, the reason i have been here is through boredom
while i have been looking after lees house, i haven't got
the internet in my flat and doubt i will be visiting here
much after the weekend. the early electronic topic you
mentioned aesthetics posted something like "i dont listen to
electronic music" which was clearly a stupid deconstructive
response to the question i asked, just because you like the
person who made the comment doesnt make it ok. when i
joined i just didnt expect every topic whether serious or
not to be dragged completely away from the point by people
whether respected or not.

ps i will be defensive if i am being attacked or questioned.
for example you accused me of 'spamming' earlier on in this
topic and as yet haven't pointed to any 'spam' that i have
made. and who is being a bit above themselves when they
expect someone else to be 'humbled' by their words?

Yes, I just typed out 150 hundred words whining like a slag
about Nacmat's (of all people) unfair treatment of me and
some long forgotten thread no one was bothered about, and I
started a new thread called "Stop over reacting" (when
overreacting is actually one word, and ridiculous isn't
spelled rediculous) about the triviality of 4 or 5 bombs
going off in London from the safety of my scag pit in the
North West, what a sad cunt I am. Oh hang on, it was you.

Media are happy of this terrorist attack.
It produces so much audience...

In France, the news are :

journalist : -Oh my god, are we right to expect an
attack in France, someday ?
random guy who wasn't working minutes before : -Yes,
all Westerners are concerned.
cops minister : -Okay we imediatly double manpower.
televiewers : -Ahhhh, we are reassured now. What a
great country we are in, finally, hahaha. And long life to
terrorists ! (because we will not attack them)
terrorists : -Ghyahhahahaaaa !!! =)

By getting worked up and pointing fingers, people are
playing into the same hand that the conservative
fundamentalists are trying to play. This only increases
their ability to evoke fear in their populations and
increase their power. The ammount of power that they have
built up is dangerous. Its as simple as that. Understand and
aknowledge that it happened but don't get worked up over it.
If people see that it is working, they will only be more
likely to do something similar, therefore increasing fear,
and increasing political power to unscrupulous people.

During the year 2000 in the united states out of 281,421,906
people;

15,517 were murdered.
90,186 were raped
910,744 were violently assaulted.

Incidentally, these are lower numbers than the mid eighties,
where the average population number is around 240,000,000

Terrorism is bad. So is any kind of crime.

What really gets me is the american government is spending
all this money on international terrorism, something that
has only seen as much death on their own soil as 4% of their
own violent crime over a 5 year period.

If they actually put that money towards rehabilitation
instead of incarceration, and focused on actual preventative
methods instead of the silly goose chases they have been
going on, they could drastically reduce the ammount of death
that happens on their own lands. Such as, education,
providing proper training to police force, as well as
benefits to help lure a higher quality of person and better
psychological screenings for the different members of the
various police forces. But there is no money there. There is
money in war.

i agree that some stories involving white victims get more
news time than those that dont. for example here in the u.s.
there has been endless media attention given to some chubby
white gal who 'disappeared' in aruba about 2 months ago.
meanwhile MANY MANY other women have gone missing since then
under even stranger and mysterious circumstances but not one
of these stories is deemed newsworthy because of the color
of their skin and/or their perceived "beauty."

i dont think any of that is going on in the london bombings
situation, because the truth is it's a pretty big deal when
someone detonates 4 bombs simultaneously in the heart of one
of the worlds capitals and causes any amount of casualties.

It also comes to my attention that the timing was just
right, obvious i know in some regards but it just comes to
mind that we just took presidency on the EU council.

It seems funny that this should happen now, i mean Europe
was kind of divided before. What better way to gain
solidarity from the mainland?

Sorry, just a thought...

why does the
fact it occured on a western city to the western populace
make it so much more important than similar numbers of
innocent people dying daily in Iraq?

It's not neccessarily more important, per se, but some of
the reasons we get more upset by it are:

1. We can relate more easily to the people killed/injured as
they are from a similar way of life: It's easier to feel
empathy when you can imagine yourself in the victim's
shoes.

2. We are more likely to actually know the people directly
affected/injured by it.

3. As civilians in a country that is not formally at war (or
in the immediate aftermath of one) we, perhaps unreasonably,
have a greater expectation of security and peace.

4. We are more likely to be indirectly affected by it (loss
of liberty through increased police powers/id cards),
cancellation of trips to London, delays on public transport,
etc.

5. The classic 'NIMBY' (Not In My Back Yard). Problems are
always taken more seriously when they're on your doorstep.

disgusted with these attacks and my thoughts are with the
families of all those involved. btw, if anyone wants a
laugh and it is still up watch John Gibsons "My Word"

given to London. Unbiased journalism at it's finest. To
give you an idea the general theme was France should have
got the Olympics because there would have been no security
concerns because the French are the main nation harbouring
and training Islamic terrorists.
