My strange eating cycle

I usually eat my first meal of the day around 2-4pm, and
"lunch" between 9-10pm, followed by a snack in the 2-4am
range before I go to bed.

For some reason why, I am never very hungry for at least a
few hours after I wake up, which if things are going well,
is around noon. On days I have to get up and work (8am), I
usually end up getting only 4-5 hours of sleep because I
still go to bed at the same time every night. When I wake up
on work days I'm groggy and still half-asleep, and eating
then just gives me upset stomach. So that is why I have my
first meal of the day in the afternoon. Now you know, and
knowing is half the battle.

what is your eating cycle like? is it really regular or
fucked up like mine? I'm sure my habits must seem weird to
most people, but I don't really enjoy most breakfast foods,
so skipping straight to lunch works great for me.

hmm... this could be the day that breaks the cycle.

It's 12:25pm now, and I'm actually hungry. This almost never
happens.

You probably feel sick cause you've had little sleep, also,
if you eat just before you go to bed it'll effect your sleep
and you won;t feel as hungry in the morn

Try not eating for a few hours before you go to bed, and get
up a little earlier in the morning and have some fruit. Or
even eat fruit before you go to bed instead of whatever else
you've been eating

I started eating fruit about 6 months ago and it helped my
appetite heaps, I don't eat just one meal a day anymore (and
I feel generally better)

it's quite mad how quickly it takes effect too. Fruit in the
morn is great! I always feel better if I have fruity for
breakfast

also, an apple is better at waking you up in the morn than a
cup of coffee, fact

Really? That really makes me want to eat fruit. that and i
read something on a little news blurb thing that read:

5 Best Foods For Real Men to Eat
Men, wouldn't it be great to eat just the right foods and
have bulges in all the right places? You might just be able
to do that if you follow the advice of Dr. Steven Lamm,
author of "The Hardness Factor: How to Achieve Your Best
Health and Sexual Fitness at Any Age."

He says there are five specific foods that should be a
staple of every man's diet. They're not only healthy, but
also they will increase male stamina, he told The New York
Post.

Salmon
This is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help
lower triglyceride levels and blood pressure and reduce the
risk of heart disease and cancer. Eat wild salmon two to
four times a week. Don't like salmon? Go for Alaskan
halibut, canned albacore tuna, sardines, herring, trout, sea
bass or clams

Blueberries
This is the premier antioxidant, defending the body against
heart disease and cancer, while helping to maintain
youthful, healthy skin. Eat 1 to 2 cups a day. When
blueberries aren't in season, eat cranberries, raspberries,
strawberries, cherries, currants and purple grapes.

Spinach
Popeye was right! Packed with vitamins, minerals and folic
acid, spinach helps lower the risk of cardiovascular
diseases, a variety of cancers, age-related macular
degeneration, and cataracts. Eat 1 cup of steamed spinach or
2 cups of raw spinach a day. Don't like it? Then eat kale,
collards, Swiss chard, bok choy, romaine lettuce, mustard or
turnip greens.

Nuts
Nuts--from almonds to walnuts--are rich in the right kind of
fat. They're also packed with arginine, an amino acid that
helps keep arteries clear. Recent studies found that
consuming 5 ounces of nuts a week can cut the risk of heart
attack by one-third.

Chocolate
It's not your imagination. You really do feel good eating
chocolate. Why? It contains phenylethylamine, the same
pleasure-producing chemica

offline virginpusher from County Clare on 2005-07-06 15:30 [#01654384]

... chemical that is released when we fall in love. Choose
dark chocolate because it's packed with high levels of a
type of antioxidant called flavonoids that help maintain a
healthy heart and good circulation to reduce blood clotting,
which can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

Lamm also recommends bananas, grapes, poultry, tuna fish,
avocado and peanuts for improving vascular health. "Anything
that helps your heart is going to help your sex life," he
told Newsweek.

I am concerned about heart health because the four leading
causes of heart attacks are:

1. Stress
2. Smoking
3. Lack of exercise
4. Diet

I used to smoke heavy and i just quit recently. Its been
almost a month (where's cuntychuck?? :D) I dont exercise
because i like my smallness and dont wanna be built. I eat
the most unhealthy stuff in the world.

yeah.. (heart burn.. at least I think it's the same thing as
what we call "halsbrann" which would translate as
throat-fire or something)

I've started eating calcium tablets because it slightly
dampens stuff like that... also, it is apparently so that if
the body is very acidic, it will use parts of the skeleton
(calcium) to lower the acidity, leading to fragile
bone-structure...

Rennies! I munch them by the bucketful. Thank fuck for
rennies, my stomach is all over the place without them. It's
fucked up anyway so i don't care what i eat nowadays,
although i can confirm that living on bakewell tarts for a
week or so is a genuinely bad idea.

I'm not too fond of milk, actually...

what do these rennies do? I got these things I use in
"emergencies." they stop the production of stomach acid for
12 hours (it's called ranitidin or something).. I don't use
them often because they can have some weird side-effects
(unvolountary spasms and hallucinations, but these are very
very rare side-effects and you almost have to be
allergic to the stuff to get them, but still.. I like to
stay careful around stuff that can cause stuff like that).

i eat a multivitamin, a fish oil pill, and a bowl of cereal
with milk in the morning, then a bowl of ramen noodle soup
for lunch with fruit juice, and a frozen tv dinner in the
evening with fruit juice. 8 oz. water every 3 hours. i eat
raisins or bananas for snacks, sometimes other fruits, trail
mix, granola bar, or occasionally sweets like an ice cream
treat or i dunno a twix or something. 3 meals a day. i've
found it's important to drink enough water.

also you gotta make sure you're getting enough exercise.
walking briskly for one hour daily should get you right. i
do one hour in the mornings, and one hour before bed. also
a good idea to avoid caffeine.

I'm one of those persons for whom breakfast is a must in the
morning. Without it my stomach owns me the rest of that day.
But this is my usual eating cycle:

I get up at 5am, have a slice of bread and a litre of water.
Then I get in the car and have a tripple instant espresso
and three cigarettes on my way to work. At work I have three
slices of bread with cheese and ham and I have more coffee
and water. This is some time around 7am.

Lunch at 11:00am, usually a hot meal in the canteen.

Back home I cook dinner and serve it usually some time
around 4.30pm. Real food. Home made Norwegian husmannskost.

Another slice of bread and usually some crisps and chocolate
from 9.30pm to 11.00pm accompanied by a cold beer or two
concludes my eating for the day. I should really cut that
last "meal" since I need to loose a few pounds...

Your diet is terrible. Coffee, beer, crisps and chocolate
every day. Cheese every day, and processed meats. You are
asking for blocked arteries, increased weight, cancerous
chemicals and high blood pressure. Don't tell me you eat
white bread too? The only good think you consume is 1 litre
of water - but even then you should spread it out over the
day more, especially as the coffee is dehydrating you.

I eat, almost every day.

Brekkie: Bran flakes and a banana with small amount of milk
Lunch: Wholemeal bread with tin of tuna and an avocado.
Dinner: White cod, chicken breast, or lean mince with
wholemeal pasta. Always add, tomato, mushrooms, shalot, and
mange tout or sugar snap peas.

2 Litres of Water throughout day

I have treats 2 to 3 times a week. Sometimes I lose the plot
and eat other stuff but by and large stick to the same diet
in principle.

Should eat more nuts, spinach, fruit - and I do but not
regularly. Gave up smoking 10 years ago, but still have 1
every few months.

Play football twice a week, used to go to gym regular but
pulled my tricep 6 months ago and haven't been able to do
weights, which is making me sad
