I'm afraid to say that you will not hear all BOC, Ironlung.
All pre-highscores releases are hard as hell to find, only a
few copies of each are in existance. Good luck for finding
them, :-)!

its still possible, (though I agree, ive never even seen
anything off play by numbers) though in all honesty it
probably bites cause BoC seem to have no qualms about
reissuing their good songs on later albums.

none of it is shared through ag or ss. back when they had
the track listing for all of the oldschool releases I did a
search on every track they listed and found one, called red
moss. i forget where its from.

Red Moss is from BoC Maxima, soon to be reissued along with
Twoism.

No one with the actual Play By Numbers album would give them
to people who would put them up for open distribution. BoC
is too careful for that.

Play By Numbers
Catalogue 3
Hooper Bay

all virtually non-existant...

I'm not sure if they were even pressed and sold to the
public. If they were like 5 copies must have been sold
each. BoC is either very careful with them because they
think they are too good/want to release them later/or maybe
they are embarrased because they are crap.

another good point...I would hate to think it, but what if
they are CRAP...I could only imagine what their sound was in
the EARLY 90's.....

I wanna know....lol....

i've got a track called Old Tunes Vol.1 from BoC, sounds
monoton and beginnering, but sounds like BoC i think...
little beat sounds like GM, 1:46 long...

offline Joyrex from watmm.com (United States) on 2002-02-20 17:35 [#00094977]
Points: 1389 Status: Lurker

I have BoC Maxima (an original), a copy of Twoism, and some
"Old Tunes" I recently acquired.

There were very few of the early releases actually given to
people outside of their friends and family, so hence why you
haven't seen them on Ebay (yet) or on the file sharing
services.

Old BoC is just as lovely as the new stuff.

"Old Tunes" and "More Old Tunes" are cassettes given to
select individuals who know Marcus and Mike. I used to have
a tracklisting, but it's in my archived email, I would have
to dig it up.

P.S.: The Old Tunes Vol 1 track is legit.

And I wish I could fine the new old tunes. (Joyrex, I would
LOVE it if I could acquire them from you somehow)

I have 3 song samples from them... Circle, Duffy, and
Wouldn't you Like to be Free. I cant say much for Circle,
but the other two are amazing!
