isn't this very very illegal? i mean why would boomkat put
this for sale? could i just sell 1000+ cdrs of my selection
for "the best of aphex twin" without the risk of being sued
by warp/rephlex?

I'd imagine the copyright is held by a number of parties.
Ownership would vary by track. And I'd also imagine that it
is very very illegal.

"Ahhhh yesss...now here’s a find. God only knows how legit
(or most likely not) this killer heavyweight doublpack
is..."

will this give you any idea? :)

Warp licensed the tracks for their appearances on the 26
Mixes compilation, which I figure means that the original
owners are under no obligation to Warp in regards to the
tracks future licensing. (I don't know this for sure, it
just seems logical). If so someone else could do the same
thing.
Which means this comp could well be legal.
But since Warp already released it it doesn't make much
financial success to spend all that money licensing the
tracks to sell (essentailly) something that someone else has
already produced.

'success' should have been 'sense'.
