ok finally heard this album for the first time after
listening to all the hype and i gotta say i liked it. im
guessing this is what gwen stefani was trying to sound like
on her last album. its cheesy fun with some wicked oldschool
programming. was wonderin what u guys thought?

For those of you who haven't heard it imagine a Sri Lankan
Peaches talkin' terror trash instead of sex trash. I like to
think of George and Laura watching it: "Mama, is that
colored girl promotin' terr?"

some songs on it are really good (ie Pull Up the People,
Galang, etc.) but others i find to be sort of not that good
in terms of production.... there's a lot of potential but so
far i'm not writing no mother of mine a letter home any time
soon.

well i used to like "galang" but now i think it's just the
king of grime stuff that nerds like and which is poor
musically

Hmm I think its more than nerd music. Some of its pretty
good club material I think.

appart from the 2 singles "galang" and "sunshowers", I've
only heard the full album once when it was playin' at the
recordstore and didn't like it. It could be a grower but i
doubt.

10 Dollar and Bucky Done Gun are a very good take on the
Baile Funk stuff that's happening right now. I'd head
straight for the floor if they were put on in a club, and I
don't dance.

Exactly. When that subbass dives you know you can't resist
the pull of the floor.

There's nothing that says 8bit breakcore like a fake ID. A
shame you couldn't do it though, age can work against you
sometimes

Anyone know who did the backing? Was it MIA herself or a
great producer? Also, anyone know what label she's signed
to?

She worked with several producers I believe. Including
Richard X - that's the only one I remember at the moment.
