haven't noticed it.
im starting to really enjoy it..first i really whished it
was harsher sounding, but now im totally down with this! i
love everything about it..vocals, music..just perfect to my
ears, and i'll see them in two weeks!! woo!

I loved some Elephant songs (Girl, you have no faith in
medicine, The hardest button to button, Little acorns), very
playable, some pure, rough rock power. This album is very
different, sounds a little bit too retro for me, but Jack
White definietly has got a big talent for writing catchy
melodies plus interesting arrangements. Blue orchid, and My
dorbell, Red rain are my favs, but I didn`t get much into it
yet.

i don't know what are these songs going to sound
like..there's more instruments used on this one..i sort of
hope it's going to be harsher stuff as i like to hear that
live..some of that raw rock and roll!! i just love the power
of it..and jack is real energetic on stage which just adds
to the atmosphere..one of my most expected bands to see
live!

the mellow ones (from the new album) will probably be
slightly re-arranged for the concert.

The commercial for this looked so goddamn retarded I
wouldn't consider it.

i'm still skeptical. i'm a big fan, generally, but. i dunno.
i appreciate different, and i can appreciate development.
but some moments almost seem awkward and just...half-assed.
i think i still need to listen to it more. i know it'll grow
on me and i'll probably end up loving it, i've just been
caught up in my swans fest at the moment. so good.

It has caused me great pyschic upheavel, but i quite dig
Blue Orchid. I still think they are a piece of shit fake
novelty act and that they would have done anything for
stardom, but it's a cool song.

i enjoyed white blood cells, the album after sounded exactly
the same, you could even match up the songs, so i got bored
and switched off.

Yeah, some songs sound literally, exactly the same on those
albums.

it's fantastic..ohh, i just heard it on the radio!
definitely one of the most exciting bands atm.

the second time i listened to it, i was like "wow this is
reeeeeally good. i'm totally enjoying this." since, i've
kept myself from listening to it so it sounds fresh in a
week or so when i'm in the mood to hear it again. very
interesting, it sounds much "older" than their previous
work. i'd recommend it, but i think a lot of people won't
like it much.

why it seems so easy for some people to do great music?
there are so many bands working hard, trying to come up with
something brilliant and most of them fail, then jack walks
into a studio and records such a fantastic album in less
then a month..or was it a week? anyway, it sure must depress
the hell out of all the rock music makers :)

i think most people don't want to be another white stripes
though, they want to make their own music.

actually, most bands at the moment seem to sound the same,
with their punk/pre-punk rejuvination, with added
effects/synths played badly.

yes, that is sort of what i was trying to say. most bands
are complicating too much, they should keep it simple..not
in stripes style ofcourse, but im sure there's a lot more
ways to sound unique, instead of trying to be trendy and do
stuff everyone's into..ahh

I loved Blue Orchid but was dissapointed when I heard the
album, too many "experimental" tuned percussion tracks which
isn't really what you want from the Stripes, the more
traditional ones just sounded like they'd rewritten older
tracks, one sounded very similar to Hotel Yorba,

I like it, and this sort of thing, is not normally my cup of
tea.

I really like Doorbell.

The album reminds me of Cat Stevens in a way...

the worst "band" ever

i actually get into a bad mood when their music is played..
that retarded drummer.. that idiot guitarist.

they're both completely talentless.

haha, are you serious? 'guitarist' is quite possibly one of
the most talented people in the music bussiness today! and
meg is just playing the way she's supposed to..she's very
good at it imo.

It does take some talent to be able to get such a BIG sound
from just guitar and drums, obviously there's some
multitracking going on but apparantly it sounds just as full
live.

i think that saying they're 'possibly one ofthe most
talented people in the music business today'
is
slightly overstepping the mark, but they do create a
good sound for just two people - obviously nowhere near as
good as chaz'n'dave :D

well, i wasn't saying that about his guitar technique
although he's real good at it..but a singer/songwriter, he's
got lots of excellent ideas and since it took them that
short time to record the new album i think they really know
what they're after.

i've heard/seen some live recordings and they sound even
better playing live than they do on records, so im really
looking forward on seeing them next week!
