I never get anything to happen with myspace, but I think you
should beware of your one friend, as he seems to be Johnny
from the shining...

I listened to Smoking Blinds.

Very nice warm production. I liked the jazzy, loungy vibe of
the song and the synth melodies and sounds; also the
scratching(?) at the beginning. It's different to a lot of
stuff you hear.

It's a bit too repetitive for me, but I'm an impatient
bastard sometimes when it comes to music.

Good stuff.

thanks.
thats me scratching some japanese mandolin record at the
beginning. well, scratching, then resampling, tweaking.

i guess it is a bit repetative, i was trying to keep the
changes subtle but yeah..

thanks for the constructive criticism.

What equipment are you using? I like the sound of your
double-bass-like basslines and the melancholic reverberated
synths carrying the melodies.

Smoking Blinds is ok. the BOC-like synth[s] sound[s] very
nice.

the drums are a bit too flat for me. perhaps it's the
player's fault - or the bitrate is low

whoah! I'm loving it! funky stuff that I'd definately want
to hear more of! a change in the stuff running in the
bakground would be great though... I'm checking the rest of
your tracks!

ah, you wouldn't be so kind as to put together ~1 cd worth
of your stuff in a high bitrate and sharing on soulseek,
would you?

smoking blinds is pretty good, but it just didn't hold my
attention, i guess. i like the mandolin stuff a lot. i dig
white walrus the most. the singing is cool. is that an
older song? yogurt lounge was pretty cool too.

wha! lots of kind words.

Cs2x: All the drums are Stylus drum samples, i degrade them
a bit to try to make them sound a bit more real... dunno if
that s what comes out. all the synth, melodies etc, are
sampled off of my roland juno 106. I use a few vst effects
for reverb and delay. and i sequence and do all my tweaking
in Ableton Live.

Obara: If you are listening on myspace, i have noticed that
the myspace player kinda sux, maybe if you like it enough,
download from my zebox page. could also be that i still
kinda suck at mastering. yeah, probably that's it.

Drunken Mastah: I'll keep you posted. I've been thinking
of assembling a 'my favorite trax' compilation anyway, when
it's ready, i'll look for you on soulseek. your username is
'Drunken Mastah' ?

Arf: Yeah, white walrus is about 6mo old. its also the only
track i've ever done any actual 'singing' on. If Smoking
Blind didn't hold your attention, maybe try smoking a blunt
and listening on headphones. har har.

but thanks for the kind words and honest critique peoples.

Yeah, I use the same nick on soulseek.. I'm not online there
by default though, due to my crappy comp that almost is too
slow to play solitaire...
