Best band ever. Don't discuss, you've no idea who I'm on
about. Unless you're r40f.

they're one of my favorites! totally original, great music.
did you ever see them play live?

i just foolishly attempted to come up with my favorite jesus
lizard record. that was a mistake - all their records are
so fucking good. so many classic songs... my first
exposure to them was their show cd (live at cbgb's). that's
a good one, "ladies and gentlemen, mr richard simmons..."

I did see them live, once, at the Underworld in Camden circa
"Goat", Yow came on stage with his nads hanging out of his
pants but, crucially, not his penis. I stroked his sweaty
head. I LOVE THESE GUYS.

used to like them when i was a spotty teenager, grown up
since then though.

incidentally if you any one wants to make me an offer on my
red vinyl version of 'liar' or a blue vinyl version of the
7" split they did with nirvana i'd be more than happy to get
rid of them.

to death back in school days.

those sound cool, but i'm sure i couldn't afford them.

i had bought the lash triple-vinyl years ago from touch and
go, and there was two copies of the same record in there.
luckily, i also have bang on cd.

one thing that's easy to over look is that yow's lyrics are
really excellent. usually, you can't really understand half
the things he's yelling, but if you actually read the words,
he's very, very good. but that shouldn't be a surprise -
scratch acid also had fantastic lyrics.

his interpretation of lyrics is unbelievable.....when he
shouts " i can't swim !! " i can really believe that. he's
mad. where does he take inspiration for lyrics from ? i
haven't read any interviews with him

hah, that's a good question. i read an interview years ago
where he was talking about his lyrics, but unfortunately, i
have no idea where that is now. i'll try and find it again.

" If Jesus was a woman would you try to date her or fuck
her?

Yow: If The Jesus Lizard was a woman...?

No, if Jesus Christ was a woman, would you try to date her
or fuck her?

Yow: You mean, like if she was alive? "

hahaha oh yes

who produced "goat" ? i always loved the sound, the bass and
drums are very intense

my mates had a school band and played "monkey trick"
sometimes. i was to join them to sing it but didn't have
tho. i regretted that later, cause it did sound good when
they played that.
