Susumu Yokota has just released a new CD titled "Symbol."

What are your thoughts on his new CD? I loved "The Boy and
the Tree" and "Sakura", but some of his other releases
aren't so special. This one is a definate grower, and it's
much like his other ambient works.

I don't really like ambience music and generally think there
are better artists out there, but I do admire his ecclectic
offerings.

I have to admit I do like his earlier works but this is now
his 25th album and I can’t really see his music moving in
any sort of new direction now. Ambience is a genre where it
is difficult to produce a vast number of albums and retain
the public’s interest and for doing this alone one has to
give Susumu Yokota praise. I'm not expecting this album
particularly eagarly from the samples I've heard though.
Perhaps I just prefer dark ambience from the likes of
Michael Stearns more because of the way it is
trance-enducing if you're in the right frame of mind. ‘The
Storm’ album (especially his track 'The gathering')
totally blew me away [pun intended]

Now can someone who actually likes Susumu Yomota and isn't
copying things off google discuss his works with me?

Err, who as copying stuff? Xeron? Search for what I posted
then if you think that. I do know Yokota [perhaps better
than you if you take the significance of your typo CS2x] and
am well acquainted with Michael Stearns as well.

and people think it's an "obbsession", walnut look at the
post above and you'll agree with me that this XLT tramp
deserves all the insults I throw at him.

No more un-related posts please.

Meh I've had it since October last year. It is really nice.
But I am a big fan of his stuff.
