i like my stylish noirish stuff but only when theres a bit
of substance. This film grossly lacked that. While it looked
amazing it didn't have a decent enough consistent story to
keep it togther. After the Mickey Rourke y it went to
complete plot, whichh i thought was ok, it wen to utter shit
i reckon - boring bruce wilis and dead-as-a-doornail clive
owen. I thought the sound sucked too after an initial good
start. The peadophile and prostitute story lines were
gratuitous tosh with nothing to say at all. In the end the
limp stringing of the story lines togther fell flat and the
look and feel of it, while really fresh, wasn't bolstered in
any way by the lack of much needed pathos and drama.

I'd like to see the style used again but give us a fucking
storyline with heart as well as cool. (think kurasawa,
kubrick etc)

The whole simultaneous story line thing always falls flat. I
know totally different example, but Love Actually had that
as well and it was crap.

As for Clive Owen, that guy's a dead fish in whatever he
does. He keeps his voice monotone and doesn't change his
expression and obviously thinks he's been deep and broody
where as, in fact, he's just being wooden.

Love Actually is a good film!!

Kiera Knightley and Elisha Cuthbert in the same film..
That's enough for me. It was also quite moving at times.

no, not as such. But be warned you'll have to share her with
a tapeworm. ;)

she might not like that. It might be a strategic
career-enhancing tapeworm.

Watch the credits of her film. Under dietition (sp?)you'll
find kiera's pet tapeworm.

"it didn't have a decent enough consistent story to
keep it togther."

it's based on 3 comic book stories. other than taking place
in the sin city world, they're not related to each other in
any way. so your argument doesn't hold much water.
