the melvins are the best band ever. go see them
live...probably one of the best bands i've ever seen. them
and mudhoney rock my world.

they are my favorite band, uzim!

their albums are really quite different from each other.
since you like stoner witch, try Stag (it has a lot of
straightforward numbers, but it also shows off their
experimental side - one of their very best records).
another good beginner record is Hostile Ambient Takeover
(their most recent full-length album). the one that
everyone seems to have is Houdini, which is also very good.

oh yes, they're a wonderful band! and i'd recommend you
houdini as well..i love that one!

is Houdini a different style than Stoner Witch?

(by the way, can you enter their website? i can't
catch that elephant/mouse thing...)

all their albums have a different style. it's mostly heavy
rock music, though. houdini has a rougher production than
stoner witch and it's a bit more experimental. but it has
lots of great songs. that period of the melvins on Atlantic
records is a good place to start listening to their music
(houdini ['93], stoner witch ['94], stag ['96]). it's their
most accessable period, and strangely, the start of their
most experimental.

that's their entire website. if you want some basic info
and a lot of speculation, you can check out www.themelvins.net

what the fuck... i ordered Gluey Porch Treatments...
and today i received this instead [see attachment below]...
o_O

amazon.fr also has this weird album listed as "Gluey Porch
Treatment" but it doesn't mention the Melvins nor Gluey
Porch Treatments nor anything on the cover. i checked the
website, both albums do exist and it really is a mistake
(probably from the label, since at least two sellers got it
wrong the same way). guess i'll have to return it...

but i really thought it was a joke at first. almost opened
it.

that was a google search and a visit to ipecac.com... but
see for yourself... or here... there are samples and
they are just phone calls. not Melvins.

There are certain albums that everyone in their life needs
to here regardless of what you are into. That would be one
of them. I wish jukeboxes had them.... 65minutes of cock
blocking in bars (Audio style)

Ok because al of this cover stuff was messing with my head.
I dont own this one but my buddy does but i havent seen the
cover from what i remember.

Have you opened it yet?

nope... i sent the seller a mail for a refund or an
exchange, i'm really sure it's not the right album now - and
they wouldn't accept a return if the album is opened. at
worse i'll have lost €14, which is annoying but not the
end of the world either. : )

btw - i just listened to some samples of the albums you
mentioned (except for Crowbar, which i couldn't find),
sounds good!

I am starting to think that was it.

Not sure. i will call my friend in a few minutes to check
into this for you.

Sleep's "dopesmoker" or "jerusalem"(sp?) is IMO a very
important song in rock. Weighing in at over 65minutes long
there is just alot to chill to. I see why they call it
dopesmoker.

:D

Although i usually put it on when i am drinking.

EHG has vocalist Michael williams whos voice puts him in the
#1 vocalist position of all time. I could go into that. Also
Jimmy Bower is a great guitarist

The CD you recieved was:

Neil Hamburger - Great Phone Calls

The CD you need with say both the melvins and gluey porch
treatments on the front.

scroll down to almost the bottom

I dont know. My buddys got an album of theirs. I should look
into it. It makes me feel stronger when i am drinking. Which
is a good thing.

Kevin Bond (crowbar) is in superjoint ritual with everyones
favorite Jimmy Bower (ehg, down)

They make such a great team
