someone posted this site the other day but i can't find the
thread, anyway this is pretty funny and so so true:

The Dance music that Chavs listen to is quite distinct. The
dance music genre is now so big that I feel the need to be
more specific about the type of dance music Chavs listen to.
For a start, forget Four Tet, Aphex Twin and Mr. Scruff etc,
Chavs like their dance music a little less sophisticated.
That's right, moronic trance and garage beats is what your
Chavster likes! Increasingly the crossover sound is where
it's at. This usually means pairing up a R&B Diva with a
rapper... usually Sean Paul!

you obviously don't suffer the debates with some of the
twats I know, with them saying that "if its more popular it
must be better"

that's pretty pathetic..

so britney is better than good underground rock? national
socialism was better than democracy because it was more
popular in the 30s?

there are so many flaws in what they're saying you should
find it easy to reduce them to tears with some logic. the
two examples above are pretty shit but if you talk to them
about this for a while, there are plenty of ways, using
language cleverly and without swearing or getting
passionate, that you could back them into a corner and
literally reduce them to a babbling mess.

Hardly. The most prominent feature of idiocy is its
inability to recognize itself as such. The idiot has no way
of knowing when it has lost an argument and is therefore
always right. I call it the Invulnerable Armor of Ignorance.

you're quite right, and it can be really very infuriating to
deal with.

however, when you manage to make a breakthrough, of breaking
a comparison with something else down to something very
simple, the truth of which is undisputable, they soon
realise they're wrong and often fly into a rage of
defensiveness which i never fail to find amusing.

I just spent the weekend with a buch of morons who listened
to nothing but hip hop and proclaimed all my music was noise
and "just pressing buttons."

Fun.

I was told by one total chav idiot that I was the "only
person who likes Square- ("whatever his name is") -pusher
and your a loner for listening to that shit"

this particular dick was hearing Craig David on his eyepod
at the time. I was enraged at the arrogance.

There are generally two schools of thought, one the police
code used to describe that sort of person: C.H.A.V.

Council Housed And Violent.

The other is a corruption of chavvy (meaning either child or
gypsy, depending on who you talk to).

I think all the above works, they are typically: Violent,
Council-housed, Childish pikeys.

I understand well the chav problem, but to me this sounds
like plain racism all the way mr penexpers!

Such generalisation always leads to worse things...

I listened to Garage about 8 years ago(yes yes i know) - i
still think EZ is a quality DJ, Bryan G(dnb DJ) taught him
how to mix back in the day and he does some pretty sick
stuff... the rest of them suck though

Heheh, I enjoy some garage too. I even thought 21 Seconds
was pretty catchy. I just try and ignore the lyrics on the
whole.

well I just heard some samples of 'garage' and 'speed
garage' and I can vouch for those that haven't heard it yet,
yes, it's as bad as they say it is.

Nah some is ok!! Definitley a chav genre but lets be honest
people, speed up those UK grooves and you have jungle, slow
them down and you have grime. At least its funky - the
commercial crap is bollocks, with all those pop singers -
but there's some alright stuff. The Streets - Has it Come To
This, is a CHOON, my friends.
