both are correct spellings, one is the verb, the other is the noun. which is which, i don't have a clue - my mom had a not-so-clever-and-actually-pretty-fucked-up way of remembering it. as for "hardest words to spell", i think "most frequently misspelled words on the internet" would be more accurate. apparently in written discourse, the word "accommodation" is misspelled the most often. 2 Cs, 2Ms. |

that's one that ticks me off.. dunno why someone of another mother tongue would find it tricky - they just sound the same, while in other languages they don't necessarily - but they all still exist since they're fundamental to expressing meaning. there = indication of place, "over there between the trees". they're = they are. simple as that. their = possessive pronoun, "Autechre aren't doing it for me lately, they're releasing this avant-garde crap that I just can't stand" |

I have an annoyingly annoying time spelling "acknowledgement". not because it's hard but because I have to slow right down when typing it, and because I have to type it a lot. |
