I just had an idea.. let's do either a xltronic vibes or just a project where the main goal is to make music fitting the different moods of a "script." There doesn't have to be lyrics (at least not sung out in the song if you don't want to sing), but that would be nice too.. anyone up for "Music Kiosk - The musical" ? |

wow you're really from Noway, eh? what kind of music do you mean? Any sorts or specifically an IDM musical? I personally think 'Milkman' by RDJ would be a good starting point for any sort of Xltronic musical production. |

anyway - i would do it like this (that would be fun) you are starting with the script - writting it down and making your track. now - you are inventing the next scene of the script - and you send it to the next person in line. he does the song to your script. now he invents the next scene which has to be in some way connected to the last... and so on... cool ? |

Yeah. Ideas of 'IDM Musicals' and 'IDM Operahs' seem like almost as bad an idea as possible about a second after they are thought up. Lets not forget what happened to rock, metal and disco. |

ok so we start off with a simple plot line revolving around a severly sexually repressed second generation asian (we're going to be ultra PC here) youth called Punanito who is a very polite gentleman [we use 'Mundian Bach..' by Punjabi MC here] amid a backdrop of uncouth chav yobs [Aphex Acid used here] in a small seaside town (called Shittyville) where he gets the intestines beaten out of him [Come to Daddy] because he adopts a small weasel from a riverbank. It is a plot revolving around sex and progression of life. He screws the milkman's wife one day when she is delivering the milk because her husband is sick. ['Milkman' by RDJ] then experiments with drugs ['Doctor Who' by Orbital] and then in the end he dies at the mercy of racist chavs, ironically surrounded by so many people, yet so very alone. ['Kick Ass Violin Solo' by Outside] what do you guys think? |

well It is actually cricial to the storyline as he experiments by giving 'E' to the weasel before eating the weasel in a home cooked roast (which tastes damn fine I might add) whilst someone plays some Venetian Stairs. As a result Punanito gets high out of his mind. the morale of our tale? Dont live by the seaside near chavs and dont eat weasels, however scrumptious they appear. Stoats are better. do ya like the idea Bob? it's surely more feasibal than the storyline for that damned Queen musical. Or the ABBA one for that matter. |

hahaha! lots of nice ideas.. making a movie soundtrack... well, that would be what we were doing, but it's just that there is constant music... and I meant people should make their own stuff, not just put stuff from well-known artists on there... it wouldn't have to be idm, though.. just whatever people feel like making. |

musicals don't have music constantly, do they..? the idea being that people burst out in song at specific moments, to underline the sentiment in the story at that moment? opera - that's mostly continually music, though. (I wouldn't participate in either, btw!) |

the way you do it is very painless: 1. e-mail phobiazero saying you want to do a vibes and explain what it is. maybe link this thread. 2. he will tell you yes or no. it's easy. |

yeah, but even with phob's approval, it wouldn't do much good if there were only three participants, would it? qrter: well, that's not really defined anywhere... while the sound of music has areas without song, jesus christ superstar doesn't have a second without music... (ok, maybe a second, but there are no lines that aren't sung) anyway, since I'm imagining it'd be hard to get all these bedroom producers to record themselves singing, this one would be more lots of instrumentals reflecting the mood set by "the script." of course, if there are any people willing to do the vocals, that would be great! |

I have an idea for you. Make up scenes for the script i.e. Happy scene, uplifting, scary, action etc. Then apoint a certain scene to each individual! |

only that the "scenes" would be a bit more defined.. like having a scene that starts out with a slow romantic "dream-ish" thing that goes over into hectic fighting when the main character is pursued by his enemies or whatever... |
