songs where you can "feel" the soul...

I've noticed in very few songs that one almost can feel
that the song is.. in lack of a better word I'll use
"sincere," but... this is probably highly subjective too,
but which songs do you feel are sincere or "have a soul?"

mine:
Neil Young - Heart of Gold (just about the only song of this
type I like just because it feels so sincere)
bjørk - joga
rjd2 - making days longer

emotions.

it's a metaphor-ishly used word in this context...
sincerity/soul/whatever. I found no word for it.

What is soul?
I don't know, huh!
Soul is a hamhock in your cornflakes, yeah

What is soul? (hehhehheh)
I don't know
Huh
Soul, soul is the ring around your bathtub

What is soul?
I don't know
Huh, uh
Soul is a joint rolled in toilet paper

im not sure what you mean by a 'soul'...sometimes (rarely)
when i hear a song, i think to myself 'this song feels so
honest, this is the kind of song that the artist should make
all the time, this is the kind of song that the artist is
best at'...is that what you meant?

erh... I meant.. it's a song, and it's, like.. nice and
"sincere" and sexy and... I don't know.. listen to all
aforementioned songs, maybe? 6plot.gif

very limited exposure to music, whatever, this thread
currently sucks satan's cock for every last drop.

Current 93- A Gothic Love Song
Nature and Organisation- Tears for an Eastern Girl
Ataraxia- Funeral in Datca

All very over the top and supermelodramatic lyrically and
soundifically, but I don't doubt the conviction.

i second that: 'moonshiner', as performed by cat power.

has anyone ever heard a song being performed by a singer
who's actually crying? like, for real?

wait... i remember one: rod stewart singing 'have i told you
lately that i love you' on mtv's unplugged.

man, that was a heart-breaking moment in the history of pop.
