yeah download a Nero player on a trial to see how it works. Windows Media Player is a fair burner but it always gives you 2 seconds between tracks and therefore it can be really annoying if you want to make an album in which the tracks flow into each other.

easy cd creator is evilll...
use nero.. or Feurio! does 0 length track gaps by default which i like.

by the way i use DLA to burn CDs on my laptop and it's better than easy cd creator
