my girlfriend was frequently exasperated by my hilarious put-downs of the Fantasty genre which she enjoys so much. Being a sporting fellow, I agreed to read any book she wanted me to, and she chose Magician by Raymond E. Feist, all 831 pages of it. And, since I am an open-minded fellow, I duly made my through it and found it be an enjoyable read on the whole - one or two minor things about it I did not like, but apart from that I liked it, and'll probably read the 2 direct sequels and maybe the other series' (all of which she has).
Anyone else here read Mr Feist ?

No, but a great comedy Sci-Fi writer is Terry Pratchett.
