Yeah, there are tracks from both Autechre and Aphex Twin on
my 'Top 100' as well as tracks from other artists.

I think Richard puts more feeling in the tracks but I
wouldn't want to miss Autechre either...

Hmm... well Autechre spends much more time in my CD player
than AFX, so I guess autechre, but I really like AFX as
well.

I just can't can't decide. Either way I'm happy. On the
one hand, I love the sweet taste of sugar (actually honey)
in my tea, but then I like to go all out and do straight tea
sometimes. It's very difficult.

ketchup or mustard?
beach or mountain?

i have 13 ae releases and 12 afx releases but its just a
coincidence as i am not sure of which one i prefer...
depends on the mood, i just have one more ae release cos
many afx are not available... if not i would have much more
afx

this is probably the oldest question ever.... why does it
matter? they are two very different styles, its like
comparing fruits and vegetables. Both may be good, but both
are different, or good for different reasons.

if the guys in autechre died i wouldn't mind at all.

aphex can make music in different syles.. he can go to every
extreme.

autechre's evolution has been linear. and their music now is
the same as their music yesterday... only more pretentious
and stupid.

i given them oportunity believe me...

and every time i don't like one of their albums. i consider
downloading another one.. to try it out.. i don't care
really. i just thing it's not really valuable. it's muzaq to
my ears.

and i'll continue trashing them no matter how much you like
them because... because.. .it's just kinda fun to do it :)

Someone once said that Ae is "the best aphex twin
substitute". I don't get it Ae is totally different. I'm not
an Autechre expert but the songs I've heard (Rae, Pen
Expers, Montreal, Eutow, Kalpol Intro etc.) are far more
based on loops, more synth strings. To make a long story
short, I think Autechre has a more mellow, dreamy, alien
souns and aphex has a more raw, humoristic and psychedelic
sound.

How can anyone like Squarepusher more than AFX?

Aphex Twin is 1. Far more versatile than AE and SP
2. Conveys more emotion and therefore
does more
pioneering things with what he has.

3. Is the original IDM guy, having
started to realease
stuff earlier than the two
aforementioned artists.
(C'mon- look at SAW vol.1...)
4. Does incredible things from a
technical
and analytical perspective, such
as juxtpaose
harsh samples in rhythms with
ambient,
amiable melodies, as well as
acoustic and
electric songs in effortless
fashion. (Drukqs)
5. Even Richie D's personal life is
entertaining-
he is famous even while trying to
reject it at
every turn, Arriving 1.5 days late
for
newspaper interviews and making up
stuff
about himself like owning a tank
and DJ-ing
with sand paper.

I appreciate that some may disagree with me, but I just want
to make clear the reasons for my own opinion.

And of course I bloody love SP and AE and many others too.
