yeah, big news over here........... the story goes that the dope was planted in her bag by baggage handlers in brisbane that were shipping drugs down to sydney... part of a drugs ring that has susequently been busted by aussie police....... but because there was no hard evidence that someone planted the drugs, and because of the indonesian legal system, she was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years....... then again, everyone knows here that you don't take drugs into Bali or Indonesia, and there is a chance they were her drugs, so maybe she took a chance and lost.... who knows... |

appearances can be deceiving....... i'm not saying she's guilty by any means, and 20 years is harsh regardless, but you just don't know...... interestingly there was an informal poll of all the australian journalists who were covering the case in Bali, and they all said she'd done it........ and i think it was 10kg, so under 5 lbs.... |

no, she wont get out....... thre's an appeal process, both the defence and the prosecution are appealing.... that might take 2-3 tyears, and at the end of it there's a chance she could get her sentence increased, even to the death penalty!! her best chance is a prisoner exchange with australia, but there is no agreement in place yet, and even then she would have to do 20 years back here........ basically, she's fucked.... and i remeber the guy getting caned, but i thought that was in singapore.... was he caned in the end? |
