I am looking for a program that can optimize a word file's
size to make it about 1/4th of it's original size.
If there are no programs that do the preceding function, I
wonder if there are any good free doc to pdf converters
around?

it allows you to create a pdf.

the way you do it is by selecting pdfcreator from your
printers list, then it saves a pdf to your harddrive. you
don't have to actually print it.

winzip will shink the fuck out of a text file.
Your brother must have a hell of a resume if you cant email
it as a regular attachment- yahoo supports 10mb. Is he a
font-whore?

I'm not sure. He didnt say. Its 400kb but he says it needs
to be no more than 100kb. It is 1 page and really nicely
formatted and contains his agency pic in the top left but it
is only 12kb so its very confusing. A stumper for sure
