Theeeey're pink!
Remember muscle men? Later on there were all sorts of different colors, not just pink. I remember I had two hundred and something of them. My favorites were the giant hand (I had a pink and an orange), a guy with a sword.. hmm.. oh yeah, this orange weird giant guy. and some sort of guy made of balls. Once I sent the creators a letter to make a SUPER muscle man made up of regular muscle men, sort of like optimus prime, with a picture describing it. They said it was a shitty idea, only in a more polite way. I sent the letter 2 weeks ago.

Millions of unusual small creatures lurking everywhere.
The were videogames games etc. made of it (some fairly recently). Great character design, it was licenced to some other toy company comparatively recently, who made inferior 'shiny' versions of some of them.
None of them are actually that rare and you can buy them on ebay very cheaply. Even a complete set in half decent condition isn't obscenely expensive.

They always ran around town making ladies scream in the commercials. I saw that and was SOLD. Especially since they were pink. I never heard of any videogames. I had battle beasts too. Battle beasts are pretty much superior to muscle men as they have moving arms and better color and design, but their super power chest stickers fall off sort of easily. They also could carry weapons. ALso WOOD power is dumb. water beats fire which beats wood which beats water? They should have used rock paper scissors. I just checked ebay for muscle men right after I posted this. Maybe I should buy some. There's so many useful things to do with them after all such as positioning them standing on a flat surface. If that's not useful I don't know what it is. Plus they are pink, so a oiwe foiaj ogij aowgj oaigwe

Late on, they brought out ones that replaced those "slide off when they get wet, never to be seen again" stickers with little lenses you had to put your eye up close to in order to see the type they were.
Also, with the first batch of battlebeasts, you could switch their arms round. They were good compared to muscle men, but they were also a lot more expensive, for fewer of them (packs of 3 instead of 10).

Yeah I remember muscle men, I used to have loads of them.
Most of the kids I knew were into the controversially named 'Ring Raiders' toys, which came with the warning "may cause homosexuality in later life."

Yes, yes, exactly! ha ha, yeah, I think I might have changed a few arms too. I never saw the second batch of look-through lensersoija fe though. ha ha, muscle men either came in those funny plastic mini clear trash cans or the box sets. The trash cans were cool. I only had like 8 battle beasts because they were expensive. The rhino was awesome.. maybe a deer or something too I forget.

A veritable treasure trove of samples for tracks, I'll bet.
KADO: Damn, I'd forgotten about them! I think it also gave a lot of people a taste of wearing 4 rings at once and the current popularity of soverign rings amongst the lower orders can partly be attributed to playing with these as young 'uns.

yeah deepspace should dig the tape out...it could be an xlt radio special.
Ring raiders could well make a chav fashion comeback.
There were these other toys around at the time, always wanted them but they were too expensive. It involved a big spaceship with smaller sections that moved around on them automatically using magnets....they were awesome, can't remember the name of them tho.

And all those other vehicles inside... I remember for 4 years in a row I got manta force stuff for xmas. Main ship, the 'venom' (red) baddies one. The manta force base and then that weird alien robot things ship that were a bit like the borg. I also had a venom motorbike and pack of extra men. Top toys and the scale of battles you could have with them were intense.
I sold the lot to one of my mother's mates (for her kids) when I grew out of them, for £20, which I used to buy some quasar/lazer quest type guns. Ah, nostalgia...
