yeah, but it was very abstract in a way :D you should visit
Lodz and see...

Anyway - these snaps are from IE for sure and CYRK ZALEWSKI
is a famous circus in our country. I have ordered the dvd.
Is it region-free?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is.

That circus shot looks mental.

Not everything is DV though. The fourth picture from bottom
shows 35mm sweet Panavision movie camera.

maybe they were filming "behind the scenes" or something on
35mm. Lynch used miniDV Sony PD-150 camera to shoot IE. I
like this camera, however prefer Canon XL1S. Anyway, can't
wait to see this clip you talked about.

upload though :(

actually take heed?

offline trentee from Berlin (Germany) on 2006-03-17 17:00 [#01862269]

thank you clint for that :)

I've just watched it. Shots with smiles are pure Lynch. I
did not have ejaculation after watching whole thing, though.
It reminds me of "dogma" shitTrier with this singing and
home video effects (black eyes). I really liked how space
"breathes" behind actors in portrait shots. It almost looks
like it was shot with "blue/green screen". Dialogues are
wicked. So, yeah - it will be another insane Lynch's
mov(i)e.

I noticed the 'breathing' bits too, its really surreal, but
very subtle. Especially noticable behind the man nearer the
start. Effects like that seem way more powerful on DV than
they would on film somehow.

Actually its very wierd, just watched it again, I wonder how
they did that. All the profile shots of the man.

it is strange, because perspective is fucked up there. it
looks like the landscape behind them was shot with different
lens than faces. Also you can see that sometimes camera
moves differently. When you see the face it is "from left to
right" move, but when you check the same shot and look at
the landscape behind them it is "from right to left" move.
wicked :)

See, I used fake brakets. "Jersey house wives" The board
thought it was real so it didn't show up. The Jeremy Irons
joke would have worked better. Oh well Jeremy Irons is gay
anyway. So who cares.

inland empire had to be shown in a local film festival, but
finally it wasnt because of the distributors. :( apparently,
they thought the film was too long and mr. lynch didnt
wanted it to be cut...

So this has been finished for a while now, and David Lynch
messageboards are full of opinions from people who bought
expensive tickets for initial showings of the film which
Mr.Lynch also attented himself. Thing is, when can the rest
of us bloody see it!? It looks unlikely that it'll be given
a normal release in cinemas. :-(

but at least it's new(ish) lynch! But this film, this film
is the real deal, and I hope it's gonna literally drive me
crazy like Mulholland Drive did for a while. I like that
Lynch feeling. And I, too, watched the whole of Twin Peaks a
few months ago. What can I say. Can't really beat that.

Official website of the movie appeared, and some sort of
"trailer" that combines footage from Venice Festival and
some "pretty-damn-good-coffee" scenes from the movie.
