I want the cartoony weird graphics of the Wind Waker back!

I loved that style. It's a shame the game was too easy.

Well Nintendo have managed to succeed in whatever Zelda
they've produced so i have high hopes for this one. They're
calling it a GC revival

Hopefully this will revive my interest in gaming.

Half Life2 almost did it, but the bastard pile of shit kept
crashing on me. MGS3 was good though.

I hope this one isn't a fuck up. Although they've all been
nice so far.

Has it been dominating your life due to errors and because
you're trying to get it to work, or because it's so damn
good?

Mine worked fine for a week and a bit, then Steam installed
some updates, and now it keeps crashing randomly with stupid
"memory read" errors. No other games does this.

It looks really good on the surface but I'm very wary and
cynical of EVERYTHING Nintendo does now. They ditched the
only true positive Wind Waker had going for it, which was
the brilliant style.

The challenge is key, and so it the overworld. They need to
FINALLY make a living, breathing overworld to take this
series to the next level. Hyrule Field was plain and Hyrule
Ocean or whatever it was was a good idea on paper but a
collosal failure.

this game looks like it will be pretty good from what I saw
in the 2005 trailer... i hope it turns out to be worthy of
getting, so I can finally dust my gamecube off. I honestly
haven't played it in months.

Any 3d zelda sucks and is not a worthy sequal to the
original top view NES game.

that screenshot... it makes me want to further the industry
of computer graphics, just so that i can eventually play a
totally realistic game. i didn't really think about the
possible ethical questions... are there any? i dunnoe.

well.. the obvious ethical question is, if the game is
totally realistic, will impresionable people have a hard
time distinguishing events in reality from those in the
game?

I'm all for the pursuit of photo-realistic graphics. It'll
only be a moral/ethical concern for the weak-minded, we'll
have to keep them in mind and enforce rating systems and
whatnot next gen and the gens after.

I've heard people ask what the point is regarding graphics
that look 100% real if you can just see it in real life...
dumb question, it's all about immersion, I can't see mechs
and dragons interacting with realistic people and settings
in real life, and I can't get shot in the face in real life
without dying.

Well it's like a year and half old, before they even thought
about finishing touches, Tridenti's resizing program is a
piece of shit, etc. But yeah, the new Zelda is nothing
special technically, great art direction though.

Looks like Zelda DX.

The funny thing is is that I actually got my copy for free
(sorta). I found it on top of a sand dune whilst on a
geology field trip one day. I tried it on my GBA when I got
home and it worked just fine.

zelda DX was the updated version of link's awakening :) you
are a lucky man. when you say you 'sorta' got it free, did
you find it in someone else's bag first? :P

hahaha, sounds like you were meant to find it that day...

Shit, that would even make a good commercial for the game:
boy is on schoolbus, bored and looking listlessly out the
window. boy clearly needs entertainment. schoolbus arrives
at field trip destination, boy sneaks away from tour group,
climbs largest sand dune he sees. boy finds game cartridge
on top of dune, he picks it up and lightning strikes in the
background. cue nintendo logo.

I was actually a college freshman when this occured. We were
on a mandatory field trip for my geology course. I found the
cartridge on top of a hill by itself, partially buried in
the silt. Other classmates saw it too, but I was the only
one who bothered to pick it up. Oh well, their loss = )

Rather fitting too, just like finding a hidden treasure in a
Zelda adventure.

And when I say 'sorta', I mean that I didn't pay for it, but
it surely belonged to another individual. However, I figured
that individual's chances of recovering the cartridge were
nil, even it were untouched, so I proceeded to claim it. I
am a greedy bastard, but it was a find too tempting to pass
up.

Doukutsu Monogatari seems a bit overlooked to me, but any
fan of Metroid or Castlevania on NES will dig it.
Undoubtedly one of the best freeware games available.
