first of all i will admit that i am lame for not browsing
the entire board for information on these subjects, second,
i must inform you that i do not actually give a flying toss
if you think i am lame.

questions:
- why is only the messageboard in V5 style (i like it) ?
- whats with the 'points' ? is this a contest for people who
have nothing else to do than post stuff on a messageboard?
(and please come up with something better than 'uh well if u
dont like it then why are you here, you asshole')
- aphex on vinyl, cool or not? any possibilties of mixing
with styles such as techno and drum&bass?
- what does rdj think of autechre and BoC? i heard he thinks
all warp artists are shit but i find this hard to imagine.
- What should i buy next: confield or the new BoC (confield
will be my first autechre album)?

- why is only the messageboard in V5 style (i like it) ? :
there were 4 other versions before this one. hence "v =
version 5"

- whats with the 'points' ? is this a contest for people who

have nothing else to do than post stuff on a messageboard? :
almost, read the FAQ here, you get points for certain
things.

- aphex on vinyl, cool or not? any possibilties of mixing
with styles such as techno and drum&bass? : aphex on vinyl
is cool for sure, he mixes lots of style and people mix him
with lots of styles yes.

- what does rdj think of autechre and BoC? i heard he thinks

all warp artists are shit but i find this hard to imagine. :
as far as I can tell he thinks they are ok, he just doesnt
enjoy the label thats all.

- What should i buy next: confield or the new BoC (confield

will be my first autechre album)? : trust me, if your going
to get an autechre album dont get confield first, get LP5 or
some other such cd, but get the BOC album first for sure.

Like REFLEX said, start with LP5 or Chiastic Slide...
confield is NOT a good entry into autechre.

Confield is good, if you are into IDM a little longer !

Actually confield was the first thing I ever listened to
after hearing just a few Aphex songs and I really liked it.
However I'm sure most people new to Autechre would give it
some strange looks and walk off.

SHOULD arrive tomorrow for me to. But I got it from a local
CD shop that puts Aphex right next to 4/4 Rave shit. So who
knows how long it could be before I get mine =[

when people at school hear the word "techno", they
automatically think "n ts n ts n ts n ts!!!!!" well, we know
there's a distinction, don't we.

Yes. As soon as I say Electronica they say techno. So
fucking annoying... Of course it's really fun when I have my
CD player nearby and something like Go Plastic or Aleamapper
is in.

i know that the V in V5 stands for version and even tho the
term 'newbie' has been applied to my 'status' i do know what
went on here before this change in appearance. what i meant
was, why is only the MESSAGEBOARD in v5 style and not the
rest of the site. also, where's links to the rest of the
site? theres no 'home' button or anything, so once you click
messageboard, you're stuck here.

oh and dingle berry, what exactly do u classify as 'new
prodigy stuff'? if u mean their latest album 'fat of the
land', i'll admit it isnt their best but its definetely not
commercial shit. as for 'music for the jilted generation' i
think its their best.

and while we're at that subject, anybody know anything about
the release date of their new album 'always outnumbered,
never outgunned' ?

about autechre, i do have the anvil vapre cd, but it has
only 4 tracks as you undoubtedly know. i like it and i've
heard some other autechre stuff too. i dont have a problem
with inaccesible music but i'll try to see if i can find lp5
for a reasonable price.

cheers

We decided to release the V5 board before the rest of the
sections, cos the demands for the new MB was pretty high.

Expect more soon.

Yeah, dammit, second bad vibel is my favourite autechre

i love autechre so what can i say...
its true that beggining with confield shall be a bit hard
lp5 is also one of my favs
but now i love confield so much i find it hard not to
recomend it even though i know it wouldnt be a good first
step into autechre.
if i had to buy an ep (being you) i would go for
cichlisuite
if i had to buy an album i would go for lp5 or chiastic
slide (this is still my favourite)
