I love all the violin/strings and piano he plays on this
CD. Although sometimes I want to get straight into the
squarepushery stuff.

He is certainly a very talented chap

agreed. I love this album, althought I don't mind the wait,
cause when the squarepushery stuff comes.. its so much
better.

He plays the sampled violin more like it.

I had to step back as a vsnores hater with this album. I
think it's quite good. I hope the next release is crap, so I
can begin hatin :)

yes, like for example, samples from an orchestral piece, or

Tearing down an artists high regard is fun!

Aaron talks about his sampling of classical pieces in an
interview that was linked here a month ago or something.
Can't remember the link.

Did you know he's on crack?

hard to record a few violin sounds and do wonders with

Yep, no need to really play large parts with the violin I
guess, rather just record separate notes and compile on the
computer. I highly recommend the album, even if you usually
don't think much of Snares, it's his best work IMO

Dear Diary, I visited the Xltronic messageboard today, it
turns out Venetian Snares is a mendacious wankshot. I will
destroy all my records of his.

While I enjoy the album, I do think the bits where melodies
are played on synth sounds and synth strings sound cheap and
tacky. He should stick to nicking bits from Bartok and other
Hungarian composers.

At first I was amazed at the album, but then I realized the
good orchestral bits were just taken from other pieces and
the breaks aren't that special.

rossz is very much a venetian snares album so if you like
that you will like his other stuff - there really is no
difference, its almost as if he was able to take the
structure of the music out and then he can add the sounds in
there, like a crayon - they are all the same (shape,
wrapper, texture) except for the color, i hope that makes
sense. if you only like this and not his other stuff, you
only like this color and not the others - if that clears it
up any.
