do they play and have decks and synthes and mixers or is it
a display of the latest macs in the market?

just a couple of 'know it all's hunched over a big black
box. Boring, too. Most boring live show I ever saw. I think
it was the confield tour. I liked Mike P better. Never seen
aphex sadly.

its a dark room with great sounds blaring out, and in the
venue I was at, tummy rumbling basses

When I saw it, it was two guys on sequencer-drum-machine
things and it sounded better than any of their albums. In
fact, the drum beats, bass lines, and sounds were so
brilliant that the DJ sounded increadably flat afterwards.

Whats so sad about it? He was known for pressing play on a
dat tape and sitting on an adjacent couch for the entire
show.

speakers, earplugs didnt help against that bass

Put it this way, going out drinking in nightclubs now is
such a dull experience. I feel like I have seen the best.
heard the loudest and greatest music I will ever hear in a
nightclub. Any smell of smoke now just gives me a flashbacks
of that wonderful night which i will remember for the rest
of my life. I feel that any experience now will fail to give
me the same adrenalin rush that i got that night.

I went back to the place autechre played at a couple of days
ago, i was gonna go in just to try and reminisce but they
were charging £12 entrance fee for someone i hadn't heard
of, so i didn't go.

they were hidden in shadows when i saw them (i think this
was around confield) and you couldn't really see what they
were doing. they went on close to midnight, and i can
honestly say it was one of the most intense, invigorating
and astonishing performances i've attended. overwhelming
and absorbing...

I do love Autechre and was at the height of my adoration
when I when to see them but:

Autechre is very, very boring live.

yeah i just saw them last night. it was very entertaining.
they had this breakbeat theme throughout their entire
performance... it was done tastefully. the opening acts were
crappy. but that has nothing to do with them. i'm just
saying... just in case you have to suffer through opening
acts..

well, yes, it was good, but i was expecting something
awesome..perhaps i still can't fully digest their music..

it surprises me because you liked the aphex sets so much
i've never sat through a whole set of the twin, maybe
because i dont like it recorded, maybe because i dont like
it alot period

i was pretty impressed with ae because they did it so
'live', also with so much stuff i never heard, actually
their whole sound surprised me :)

i guess it just comes down to you liking aphex better than
ae

well, there's certanly music preference involved :) but
aphex releases and aphex live are two different things
imo...so far the best gigs i've been to were aphex and
spiritual unity one..i just can't get over the last one..i
thought i've seen it all and then something like that hits
me..everything i see after that (and i've seen plenty in the
last two weeks) just doesn't come close to spiritual
unity..i think i'll appreciate music more when i forget a
bit about that gig a bit..it was just so amazing!!

I appreciate your honesty and enthusiam.

It was very good indeed. Can't wait for the next tour,
whenever it may be in the future. I wonder how "live" what
they were doing was? It sounded so slick that I'm not sure
how much was pre-planned and how much was improvised.
