I can't believe no one is talking about this movie. There
must be a few Wes Anderson fans on here. I haven't seen
Rushmore so i can't really compare, although I'm glad
because a lot of reviewers seem to be comparing it to
rushmore saying it has no "heart" like rushmore. Regardless,
it has a lot of heart and was absolutely fantastic. I would
love to hear some other opinions. So far most people i've
spoken to loved it.

Link.

Steve Zissou: [bursts onto the surface from an underwater
dive, shouting hysterically. Written text of what Steve is
shouting rolls onto the screen as he speaks] Shark-like
fish... ten meters in length... irregular markings... I
tagged it with a homing dart...
[camera zooms in on Steve]
Steve Zissou: [shouts] Esteban was eaten!
Klaus Daimler: Is he dead?
Steve Zissou: He was eaten!
Klaus Daimler: A shark bit him?
Steve Zissou: A shark *ate* him!
Klaus Daimler: [shocked] It swallowed him whole?
Steve Zissou: No!... *Chewed*!
Klaus Daimler: [to the camera] He's got hydrogen psychosis,
the crazy-eye!
[camera zooms in on Steve's face - his eyes are dilated
ridiculously large, actor is wearing fake contacts]
Klaus Daimler: Steve! They say you've got crazy-eye!
Steve Zissou: Esteban was eaten! Esteban! Esteban!
Esteban!...
[Steve keeps shouting Esteban's name in a delirious staccato
while thrashing uncontrollably in the water. Camera pulls
off of Steve but he's still shouting in the background]
Klaus Daimler: [Steve is delirious in the water - Klaus
looks at the camera - the following is in a crazy German
accent with a concerned inflection] Get him out of the
fucking water.
[a moment later, Klaus jumps into the water to get Steve,
still wearing all of his normal clothes and not bothering to
take his shoes off]

later on in the bank, after being told not to kill the
shark, he says something along the lines of "okay, ill
wrestle the shark and let it live, where's the dynamite?"

in one of the other threads xammax mentioned something about
the fight scenes being unrealistic, i loved that about it,
the way he goes in guns blazing, shooting everything but the
pirates.

That best part is when Olsen Wilson's character dies.
Seriously. It's the best part.

gods must be crazy was a favourite film of mine when i was

shop every week back then.

my twin bro bought me gods must be crazy 1 & 2 on dvd for my
birthday.

it rules so hard but is rubbish, if you know what i mean....

so i went to go rent this back on 5-11-2005 (american) and
it was out. several times afterwards it was out, so i kind
of gave up. i was at the laundramat today and to kill time i
went to blockbuster to look around. they had it. i watched
it.

i really really really enjoyed it. i kind of got teary eyed
at the end...
