if you like the dks and bad brains, check out black flag,
minor threat, articles of faith, the misfits (early 80's,
not this new shit) and void.

there's very little punk/hardcore music coming out these
days that's interesting. one great exception is behind
enemy lines, who is a fantastic political-hardcore band more
on the metal side of things. (but not metalcore like
converge - they are more like traditional hardcore)

also naked raygun is a great old-school hardcore/punk band
you might enjoy.

grindcore's rooted in hardcore, so it makes sense. it's
like the most extreme version of hardcore you could imagine.
people here slam-dance at the melt banana concerts.
fantastic!

there's some amazing punk tracks on the first Vines album,
might be a bit too well produced for purists though but he
screams almost as well as Frank Black used to.

I don't like punks at the moment because a group of them
bothers me a lot by acting towards something absolutely
uninteresting to me and stealing three good friends of mine
with something I don't consider worth attention. I am now
media-enemy of punks, at least, of some kyiv punks, who are
pseudo-punks actually. WAR. they will suffer from something
sarcastic very soon.

Punk music? Well, the mentioned group of punks listens only
to listen. hey have heaps of routine punk and ska music
(tons of cdrs and they download more) they sometimes visit
the place where i live with a roommate and listen to it. I
hate their musics! FUCK this type of punk, hardcore and ska!
Punk < noise. Much less!

I'm just jealous for my old friends now prefer to spend
their time with the heap of youngsters who have been
influenced by punk culture brought by the wind and internet
from the Europe. Help.

sorry, i wrote something no one asked for.

don't worry about it mate, I come from the birthplace of
punk and people don't really give a shit about it anymore
round here if it makes you feel any better.

...even black flag didn't like punks and they were a
defining hardcore band. there's no reason to like people
who act like cunts. not all of them are, but it sounds like
the ones you know are.

no one can persuade you to like a certain kind of music.
you either like it or not. but a lot of the original punk
rock and the hardcore bands of the early-80's were really
important from a historical perspective. whether you like
the music or not, no one can really deny that a lot of it
was hugely influential and important from an art
perspective.

what sort of bands do they listen to? commercial/pop-punk
is shit. i hate this new shit more than any other type of
music (i don't hate much music, but pop-punk/emo really
pisses me off).

i have a pretty good picture of how they must look like :)

ugh, that's more shit i can't stand. in my state, there are
anti-nazi groups that actually try to run those creeps out
of town. i don't think anyone ever liked the
nazis/skinheads. they really sped up the demise of the
hardcore scenes in the mid-80's.

they are not very bad people.

they try hard to behave like punks basing on books, zines,
sites, music. Yesterday I saw a movie about Medieval monks
and found some parallels. They limit themselves, as for me.

They do not listen to commercial punk, but the punk they
listen to is 99% shit, and ska they listen to is more punk
than ska and is 99.999999% shit and they refuse other music.
they hate skinheads, nazis, and like protesting against
something government does wrong.

Oh yeah, they are mostly vegan/vegetarian, and some are
straight edge, except for smoking tobacco.

I am avoiding them.

Sham 69? Clit 45? The buzzcocks?

Why do I only remember the bands with some sex word in their
name.
