i'd say Modus Operandi is a good choice! : )

for the others, i don't know. i have 'Millions Now Living
Will Never Die' by Tortoise, which is average/ok/a bit dull
to my ears (even Djed) so i haven't tried anything else by
them.

Forgot to mention I have only got Astrobotnia's third album.
Perhaps the others are better? I mean, there are around 3
tracks I like, and the rest sort of fumble about a bit
without holding my interest at all.

Perhaps I mistakenly assumed that if he wasn't particularly
good by the third album, the first wouldn't be much cop
either.

Good choices anyway, penexpers. I like the other artists,
and I'm sure there's a good chance you'll enjoy Astrobotnia
(opinions and all that.)

Arovane is also nice...

Sorry to all "Standards" fans. I found it a very difficult
listen. I love "TNT", I really liked "Millions now
living..." I just couldn't get with the program RE
"Standards". I will give it another go, though I have given
it a fair few. Maybe with time it's... well anyway.

It's Part 3 as opposed to "the third album by" Astrobotnia,
I think, I don't know, but I thought all the Astrobotnia
material was done around the same time and released, you
know, over 3 discs. I know one of them I'm not keen on.
Possibly the third.

Yep, it's part 3.

I had another listen to it today, and I still find a lot of
it pretty naff. But whatever rocks peoples' boats I guess.

oh yeah, Photek's Modus Operandi is brilliant. i love
everything about this album - its haunting atmosphere,
repetative metallic beats and that gloomy ambient flavor...
definitely a must-have.
