Did he use a computer to sequence the breaks, or did he use samplers?
Some of the break edits sound bad.

i have no idea... i d/l this somewhere around 97? i believe... this song is kinda old y'kno? you wont catch any interpolated or (more) complex rhythms, like edIT or the likes. its just simple danceable/dnb :)

I read in Future Music that he, or rather his engineer Rob Playford, used samplers for the breaks.
I'm not sharing the high regards for the album. I think it has aged badly, and is a bit boring (the 2cd one). Infact, I never really liked it .Inner City Life is nice though, I'll admit that.

goldie only invents music, and then gets ppl to play it. on a live gigs he had, his machines were full of stickers that showed him when and where he should push which buttons - so musically hes lame. he just sometimes has these brriliant ideas.
and timeless is one of the best dnb ever, fact.

I'm not expecting "mad IDM flavours" or anything, I was just wondering. I love some of the old dark Metalheadz stuff from 96/97, like Hidden Agenda. I still listen to drum & bass today, though a lot of it is really bad.

Ah, I figured so. It just kind of sounded like it in parts. Not a big deal, though.

a great drum n bass album of its time and still good today i'd say, goldie didnt touch a thing tho , he told rob playford what he envisioned it to sound like, so it explains why his next album minus rob wasnt half as good
ex lover of bjork appartently and one time star of "eastenders" .. oh what heady heights he's acheived these days, but he was good in "snatch"

He was good in "The world is not enough".
I wonder how the conversations went between Goldie and Rob Playford.
"Do a bit right that goes, ksh kshs kshs kshs and then a brrrrrrrrrr"
"Alright Goldie, what about this?"
"Nah mate, nah mate, nah nah nahhhhhhhhh you caaannt, more kind of kosk kosh kosh, then pay one of those session birds to warble over the top a bit, luvveerly".

some of the synths on this LP sound really dated - not necessarily in a bad way though.
I remember reading an interview with Goldie where he described his working process as him drawing pictures of what he wanted the track to sound like, and then getting the engineer to help him make it a reality.
