addicted to the internet

i've been home since 11:30am today, and from then to now
(7pm) i've been on the computer for about 5 hours. i've told
myself to get up and do something, but everytime my excuse
has been, "i'm sick so i shouldn't wear myself out." the
internet is a drug and i am one of it's victims.

I've been here all day... I've had a reading-day, and
reading all day would make me crazy, so I've had lots of
internet-breaks.. which is different reading...

If you are truly one of it is victims I can only offer my
condolences and say that I too, many times, am one of it is
victims too. Its a monstrous, hypnotic medusa that turns it
is lovers into stone/lard.

I can't see the text on my F5 key any more. That's probably
a bad sign.

You apologize to the internet right now, young man.

i spend too much time on it too but i find its okay as long
as you have a real life as well. i've given up t.v so i'm
probably gonna be spending more time on the net soon. dont
stop it getting in the way of things that need to be done.
its not that bad.

i don't know if i'm addicted or not... it distracts me
sometimes... but i really wish that i didn't have to deal
with the internet or a computer at all. i do have to have
them, though, for now. i look forward to a day when there's
no reason for me to have this box anymore and i can spend
more time doing other stuff (and that day will eventually
come for sure).

Why does it bother you? I see a lot of people who seem to
feel guilty over the time they spend online. You seem a
pleasent, well adjusted person so just do it while you enjoy
it.

wow, thanks a lot! i wouldn't say i feel guilty and i
certainly enjoy it or i wouldn't be on it so much. the
reason i say i want to be done with it is that i just know
it would enable me to make more time for other things in my
life... it's not really a big deal, but i just feel like
computers are so time-consuming at times... i'd really much
rather be out walking in a park or something rather than
playing gnibbles while waiting for my audio software to
slowly process stuff, etc. i don't like the physical
machine sitting on a desk that draws me to it and ties me
down in ways...

the saturday I was walking somewhere in the city, then I
found a simple graffiti on the wall, it said something like
this:

los pecados de dios estan en internet

the sins of god are in the internet

I liked it a lot, I need to return there and take pictures
of it before the people delete it

I don't understand the guilt either, I find my time on the
internet productive and informative, including my time here.
I'm always accomplishing or discovering something and I can
tear myself away from it whenever I want and need to.
Which... isn't often, hra. But thass ok, because I find this
time productive and informative.

And like J198 said, at least I'm not watching TV.
