9&11 sound good. i like the series. but i'm still awaiting
crazy glitchy aphex music when you hear it you're like OH
FUCK YES its on bitch!

offline rezpeni on 2005-06-06 16:50 [#01624586]

Sounds like maybe Fenix Funk is a remix of mydoom.

offline bob from Nottingham (United Kingdom) on 2005-06-06 16:56 [#01624593]

as underwhelming as the rest of the series for me, i'm
afraid.

gotta collect em all though, like pokemon or something.

offline WeaklingChild from Glasgow (United Kingdom) on 2005-06-06 17:12 [#01624614]
Points: 3354 Status: Lurker

overall, i am kinda disappointed with the way analord came
out.....mainly because of my ridiculous expectation of it
being the best aphex stuff ever.

ah well. that was £100 down the feckin drain.

offline dog_belch from Netherlands, The on 2005-06-06 17:16 [#01624624]
Points: 15098 Status: Addict | Show recordbag

Let's be honest, despite a few nice moments, it was pretty
shit.

offline WeaklingChild from Glasgow (United Kingdom) on 2005-06-06 17:17 [#01624626]
Points: 3354 Status: Lurker | Followup to dog_belch: #01624624

yeah, but i think it seems that way mainly because of the
mammoth expectations that any aphex release will generate.

offline pigster from melbs on 2005-06-06 17:37 [#01624652]
Points: 4480 Status: Lurker

before analord i was pissed at rdj for not releasing
anything, and now that he's released all this material, im
happy he did.
... but yeah, some was pretty poor.

offline staz on 2005-06-06 17:40 [#01624662]

I like most of it, but it's not Drukqs.

offline rezpeni on 2005-06-06 17:43 [#01624666]
Points: 333 Status: Lurker

Thats funny, cause alot of people were saying Drukqs was
shit when it came out.

offline magness from astroblaster (Antarctica) on 2005-06-06 17:52 [#01624674]
Points: 589 Status: Lurker

I think most of us are suffering from Analord burnout.
Anyone is bound to get sick of a 200 minute album released
in 20 minute chunks over 6 months. Give it some time to
settle now that it's all out.

I think it occupies a nice place in the aphex catalogue, and
it's the best AFX work next to HAB 1&2

offline Key from Bbbbarrow-in-f (United Kingdom) on 2005-06-06 18:15 [#01624713]
Points: 857 Status: Lurker

I think the Analord series probably about on par as a whole
with Drukqs in terms of how much I enjoy listening to it.
There are only about 5 tracks out of 40-odd that I dislike,
and some tracks are up there with best Aphex ever. However I
think many fans are keen to see him return to his
hyper-editing high speed drill or whatever, I'm just glad
Ive got to hear some of the best acid Ive ever heard.

drukqs is still s**t, except for avril 14th... analord is a
lot of tracks and maybe 7-10 good tracks in the same quality
afx used to be able to produce (if he wanted to)...

offline virginpusher from County Clare on 2005-06-06 18:33 [#01624746]

I could probably go through and find enough decent tracks
out of the whole series to make 1 CD. Kind of like a best
of. Even though i didnt like some tracks i feel that they
were important because other people did.

There was seriously something for everyone.

got it today thruthe mail

VBS.Redlof.B is one of the best analord tracks yet! nice
disco break lush old school aphex style pads... mighty
stuff. also there is a 4th track which is not listed on the
rephlex site or indeed the vinyl itself.

im pleased with analord overall and agree with key on the
whole but for me maybe a few more aphex and smojphace trax
would've been nice for variety i guess. all good in a club
enviroment too.

it.
