Do Make Say Think

Is anyone up on them? I have "Winter Hymn Country Hymn
Secret Hymn". Very nice warm instrumental music. Judging
from the track notes, it looks like they drove around the
country and recorded some of the tracks in places that let
them stay the night (for example a barn and an inn).

amazing band. my favorite is probably "& Yet & Yet" though
their first is also huge.

Secret Hymn is my favorite side from WHCHSH. The first track
is absolutely smashing in an agricultural way and the last
track is extremely relaxing.

How hard is it to get ahold of their other work? Know any
places that stock em?

I have their first album. It has some nice tracks but others
spoil it so I don't listen to it that often.

It's nice stuff but I bought an album and haven't really
listened to it much.

They're quite excellent. Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret
Hymn
is a Truly Great Album and I should listen to it
more often.

Do Make Say Think are great. They have improved alot over
the past few albums. WHCHSH is my favourite album.

& Yet & Yet is an absolute gorgeous record. Has nearly
brought me to tears on several occasions.

they don't beat Godspeed You! Black Emporer or Mogwai as far
as post-rock bands go though.

i'll be seeing do make say think again tomorrow night. i
still haven't heard the new album but i'm sure they'll
perform much of it at the show, and i'll be able to buy the
record off of them. & yet & yet is still one of my favourite
albums. it's so euphoric. horns of a rabbit off of winter
hymn has been my favourite Rawk Out song since i first heard
it.

has anyone heard the new album yet?

their new one 'you, you're a history in rust' is excellent
and i'll put my hat in the ring to say it'll be one of the
albums of 2007.

the band contains some members of broken social scene and
this album has adopted more of the social scene sounds than
any of do make says albums before. there's also an
appearance from the akron/family.

i went to see them earlier tonight and it was great fun. the
vocal songs were a little wonky, though. probably why they
saved them for the encore. anyway, i'll definitely see them
live again, probably one of my favourite live acts at this
point.

its difficult to like not-idm anymore. i
want it to be faster and more machine
like and generally superior melodically.
