ah,missread the sentence...i thought you want an 8bit
recording to rate into a higher bit (which is tottaly
silly)

it seems from this thread that you think that if an mp3 is
converted into an 8bit mp3 (not even kilobit) it'll sound
like a computer game. 8-bit music.

totally different things. maybe i'm just drunk and
misinterpretting all this.. but 8-bit music is music made
using specific instruments and sounds, an 8-bit mp3 is one
of incredibly low quality.
