awesome

NOT the republican one.

i have never liked the ramones... which is weird because i
do like other bands from that era and they're probably the
most popular. i just can't stand all that rock and roll
high school bullshit. they're like the kiss of old school
punk.

that said, i do love the melvins version of "today your
love, tomorrow the world" and some other bands who have done
ramones covers. but i don't dig the ramones at all for some
reason.

I vote for Joey. Johnny was a right wing nut, and Dee Dee
made the inexcusably lame track "Funky Man."

I still like the Ramones, got my first album in 1983.

Equating the Ramones with Kiss is blasphemous!

Joey gets my vote.

Come on chris how can you deny the ramones!? That is just so
silly arf!

i knew i'd be stepping on toes with my admission, but it is
one i cannot deny!

and mark's "blasphemy" comment just emphasizes my point.
the ramones are worshipped as a name - their t-shirts are as
much a fashion staple as von dutch these days. whether or
not they are responsible is irrelevant. i am just pointing
out that many people who claim to like the ramones have
never heard their albums and are just buying the hype
delivered by aging dj's and critics who only listen to the
beatles and mainstream new-wave sell out nonsense. i don't
like their music and i don't like the people in the band and
i don't like what they represented back then and what they
represent now. fuck the ramones. enjoy the rest of your
thread.

On the subject of the Ramones, MB user "Raimons" (who made
ramone-like tracks) did some of the most catchy music on the
board. Anyone know what he's up to/have loads of his tracks
and prepared to burn me a cd of them?

lol at a simple question resulting in sweet temper tantrum

what exactly is it , that you think they represent now ,
that you dont like ? they broke up almost ten years ago and
almost all of them are dead !

and as far as what they represented back then , youre
ragging on someone elses birthdate , but unless youre 50
yourself i doubt youre qualified to answer it , aside from
pure spuculation. i speculate that they didnt represent shit
... they were just a rock and roll band ... whats not to
like about that ?

as far as t-shirt wearers , i never owned one personally ,
and i wouldnt let anyone who does , no matter how phony they
are ruin my day dude.

you could have just said none was your favorite on account
of you dont like the music .. theres nothing wrong with
that ... but eveything else you crapped out of your mouth is
pretty much garbage ...

well, you have taken my post the wrong way. i couldn't care
less and i don't want to even discuss this anymore. you're
taking it too seriously.

i like how you argue against the existence of printed
materials and research as historical reference - great one.
and i did say i don't like the music.

relax.

hey retard , i think anyone can see youre the one taking it
seriously ... i simply inquired about peoples favorite
ramone , and you started ranting and raving ... and where
was it exactly that you saw me "argue against the existence
of printed materials and research as historical reference"
lol ?!? i agree , you should back out and not discuss it
furthur before you commit anymore self owns

the problem is in your assumption that people like the music
for reasons other than the music. a lot of ramones is
sweet, silly, fun, catchy music. nobody cares that you
don't like it, they don't like being told they've bought
into bullshit hype by a condescending r4of...

i think it's kind of funny, too, that you're calling someone
"full of shit" because their birthdate is obviously
inaccurate. and that you take seriously a jest like mark's
use of the word "blasphemy", and then point the finger all
around that everyone's taking the thread too seriously.

fuck you, i'm going to rockaway beach...

have you read this thread yet? have you read the part where
two people ask for my elaboration and then i elaborate? and
then you write a bunch of nonsense? check it out - it's
going really well so far. drop it dude, i don't want to
argue with you.
