ok my question. i think i've decided to order the new
autechre album. what's the general verdict here? the milk
factory gave it a 4.9 and a stunning review and i usually
trust the milkman.

i thought everyone here downloaded it 3 months ago. good to
see there are other people who wait, though in this case
i've actually come very close to not buying it based on some
comments i've read and the few seconds i was able to hear
one day.

sup IronLung!

I think its a good album, in my opinion its a total
different sound compared to Draft or say (the
almighty)Confield.
I have not taken enough time to absorb every track yet, but
from what I have, I do like it.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2005-04-13 20:19 [#01564309]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

is it really more melodic than the last 2? because i think
draft 7.30 could've benefitted from more melodic development
(however i think confield is a masterpiece)

to give it the proper NEW Ae album listening time.

but if it weren't for Miles Davis, Chick Corea and the rest
of his crew none of those modern have learned anything....
;) Bottom line, I love Jazz, experimental jazz too....This
sounds really nice!! Thanx man

no kidding! i think electronica's debt in particular to jazz
is vastly underappreciated. the rhythms especially owe to
jazz. and i hope anyone who's a fan of squarepusher's "music
has rotted one note" has heard miles davis' fusion albums,
especially "bitches brew" which is clearly the prototype for
"MIRON."

trent here)

anyone catch the recent autechre.ws(?) dj set? what kind of
stuff did they play? i read on another board that it was all
improvised...?
