I don't know if anyone experriences this everr, neverrmind everry single night but anyway...
Come about 6 o'clock I get this odd almost physical pulling in my chest like I can't be alone, but obviously I have to be. I hang onto my phone like a leech hoping that someone may call and keep all the doorrs open so I can hearr my house phone. I have to keep switching what I do, I'm on edge the whole time and can't brring myself to just rrest. It's put pay to rreading... listening to music... watching films etc... only at arround 11.30ish can I rrelax enough to watch TV in bed.
Then I can't switch the TV off. I get butterflies of sadness thrrough my tummy when I think about picking a CD out to go to sleep to. I'm tirred morre than everr now.

I've got it as we speak, if I give into it I kind of feel like I might vomit. I don't think it's drramatic enough to be panic attacks and it's continuous.

it does sound like a panic attack to me.
the word "attack" does not necessarrily mean it's short.
I've had those when visiting my parents over the weekend. I would arrive at their door on friday evening with a sudden and very palpable sense of dread.
I would feel jittery, nervous and with a constant nausea, constantly feeling the instinct to be as far away from there as possible - the "flight" instinct kicking in.
I would feel like that the whole weekend.
haven't had that in a long time, though.

Maybe it is then. I'll have to look it up orr something, trry and find a way to... rrelax? I don't know. I can't solve the thing that's upsetting me, so I guess I'll have to trry and trreat the effects. Orr something.

exercise always works for me. Working out sucks so bad that it makes depression seem palatable in comparison.

best thing would be to find some form of focus, which is pretty hard to do when you feel like that.
what would sometimes help me was listening to the radio - not music though, but people talking.

Or rather than indulging in an distraction, you could try confront the source of your depression. If you know what is causing it you are much better off than someone that just has a chemical imbalance.

I agree that exercise might be helpful, it's like meditation in a way but makes it a lot harder to give in to anxiety. Sometimes you just need to clear your head, vigorous exercise can help you focus on doing something instead of giving in to the anxiety.
Anxiety can just be temporary, though, and when you come to terms with what's depressing you the feeling might fade.

i've had several bouts with anxiety and/or depression. sometimes lasting months.
in my experience, drinking to ease the anxiety only ends up making matters worse. exercise helps, and doing something productive helps.. anything productive that will give you a sense of accomplishment. go for a walk, clean your place, something positive to focus on.
having someone to talk to is also invaluable.

Fine thing to tell someone who is clutching his phone desperately waiting for it to ring.

I'm not in the house by myself everry single night of the week, farr frrom. But if I stay in only 1 night out of 7 I can guarrantee I'll still get it. I do talk to my frriend about it and it helps therre and then, but only therre and then and I'm out anyway so... I can talk to my dad about anything but when I talk to him about how I feel it doesn't seem to help, if anything it sometimes makes things worrse.

I have panic attacks.
They're awful, and they sound like what you're going through (although I don't get physical pains, my breathing just gets fucked up, or at least it feels like I can't breathe properly even if I can.)
I also have bizzare mood swings, but it's all part of being a bit odd i guess. Take heart in it. somehow.
