actually.....ive heard one of the autechres saying that what they create is all about taste - nothing special or otherworldly to them but you the listener might get a special feeling from it - i myself get a little tingly feeling on the back of my neck when i hear really great music. |

people overintellectualise autechre all of the time i know when i was 15 and listening to cichlisuite, i was like, man, wow, this has to be speaking to me. it aint like that anymore; it's just good music. the best music. and its not from just reading interviews and reading from them that they aren't trying to do mind control or anything, but its from realizing that you could spend an infinite amount of time overanalyzing ANYTHING that seemed complex to you. your mind is pretty powerful and you can scare the shit out of yourself using it. fuck. you can create a bunch of monsters that aren't actually there. ill quit ranting |

i wish they wouldn't take the piss. i like to pretend that they love me and are my friends. it's hard to do when they have kind of blithe replies in interviews. maybe it's just my perspective that's wrong, but i do wish they were my mates. |
