Based on the "Broken Drum" remix that BOC made for beck. I
think that they should make a whole album together. In my
opinion beck voice supports they'r music very well. It just
what they need.

i remember there was a project (or at least an idea) of a
collaboration between Coil and Boards of Canada as well...
which will never come to life now, for obvious (and tragic)
reasons of course = (

and Beck was also intending to make a collaboration with
Aphex Twin, but you know how Aphex Twin is...

by the way, i haven't heard the remix but Broken Drum is the
least good track from Guero (which is an excellent album) in
my opinion... though i see why Boards of Canada chose it,
it's the most BoC-ish track of the album as well; does the
remix really improve on/change the original?

the original is horrible but the remix totally saves the
songs. it's excellent.

The only time I was truely deflated was when I heard
Analogue Bubblebath 1 on a Gary Rhodes Cooking program on
BBC2.

the remix is fucking great. at first i was all, "yeah its
good" then after listening to it about 10 times i'm all, "i
can't fucking wait for new BOC."
true story!

ok... having listened to it...

well, it really sounds like a mix between Beck and Boards of
Canada indeed. i'm not surprised that Boards of Canada fans
like it; personally i have mixed feelings, i find the track
to be quite average compared to the rest of Guero, and
Boards of Canada to be average/ok in general and this remix
sounds average/ok to me... maybe it's a little better than
the original, because of the "tschhiuuww" sound that was a
bit awkward in the original and doesn't appear here anymore,
but even if it was that version that appeared in Guero
instead, it would still be the least good track in my
opinion. i'll give it some more listens to be sure though,
maybe i'll change my mind.

anyway, nowhere near the bleepy goodness of the 8-bit and
Paza remixes on the Hell Yes EP! : )
