I liked doom 3.

I found it quite scary, and fun.

I'm sure I speak for everyone else when I say "Great, I hope
you enjoy yourself".

a lot of people thought it was too linear, and too dark.

I'm gittery.

I got the anodized aluminum 'collector's eddition'.

It looks like the fucking necronomicon.

i need to reinstall it.

i got right to the bridge before hell, and then reformatted
my computer and forgot to back up my games.

i did this, quite simply, because i am an idiot.

Its in progressive scan so you can jack the contrast.

The room is dark and the curtains are drawn...

You will either be scared, or bored.

..I hope the former.

now.

It's true. The only game I can remember completing in
recent years is Pikmin. It took a couple or a few days.
Just about the right length. That's about all the attention
I have. Never beat Doom 3, or Half Life 2. They were
pretty good. Just too long.

Pikmin's one of the few games I finished. ALong with Quake
II and ummmm, Attic Attack.

it's frustrating and wierd.

it doesn't really matter for me how long or difficult the
game is. i'll just move on to another game and never be
able to motivate myself to come back to it.

HL2 too long!?

that's the first time I heard that!

all kinds of people complain that it's too short.. these are
the kind of people that will play through such a game in one
weekend, mind you. it took me about 3 weeks (not a full 3
weeks, regular playing over 3 weeks..) which seemed just
right to me.

And the lighting effects are so complex I'm gonna have a
siezure,

I finished Halo 2 in a weekend- this is gonna take some
effort.

It'll take even longer if you keep leaping up to post your
progress on XLT.

chance.

I know, I know..

I purchased a new hard drive shortly after getting this
game, and during the switch I managed to remember to backup
everything except for my progress in the games I had
installed.

This was an unfortunate oversight.

I had to shut the fucker off.

When the little beasties started to crawl on the ceiling, my
scrotum started to tingle and I had to save and quit.

The shotgun is a most reassuring protection device. I hope
there's a lot more ammo.

and liked it for christ's sake- I just wish they'd give
you a rail gun from the get-go.

I need to start playing MG3 again.

I wish I could have that "feeling" I used to get with games
when I was younger. It's hard to explain, but they were so
exciting and involving and the whole alternate gaming world
thing was a really special experience.

I don't really get that sensation any more, unless I am high
while playing a game-but I can't do draw any more because of
medical/brain issues, heheh.

that "feeling" was your imagination taking hold. now we're
just boring adults and all i can play are short games for
fifteen minutes at a time. like the insanely amazing virtua
fighter 4: evolution.

I just got this tonight, holds up pretty damn well, and
feels even SCARIER and more cinematic on the telervision,
everything's bigger and more obnoxious. I hear they improved
the flow and toned down the tedious flashlight, but I dunno
since I'm only a half hour in. Very good ''port'', though.

I don't think it looks quite as good as Chaos Theory, so the
graphical ''wham'' factor's a bit dulled. Still very
handsome and debonair, 2nd best looking game on Xbox.

Did you get the collector's edition? I didn't... 20 bucks
more up here, just for Doom 1 and Doom 2.
