Today? Hold on, I never have the radio or the telly on
lately, as you might expect from a catholic country it is
kind of wall-to-wall (not the wall above though) papal
coverage. I'll get the gossip though, if there is any.
Weather though: brisk.

Pffff... well tidbits aside from the ceasless political
analysis I've picked up on include: In Antofogasta the kids
now have to wear caps when they're out plaing due to high
levels of ultraviolet rays. Kitsch is fashionable. Placebo
played here for the first time last week. Bolivia being a
bit cross that Chile doesn't give them access to the sea
rumbles on. There's a case about an ex nazi who founded a
"spiritual retreat" that abused all and sundry, recently
captured having fled to Argentina. Another kiddy fiddling
politician in there somewhere as well. Two young Chileans
are in still in prison in Peru after drunkenly graffiting an
ancient wall at Christmas. Ummm, and the endless reality TV
shows.

What's happening in chile is exactly the same that's
happening in any other spot on this earth; nothing.
Oh, hooray for cameron diaz. I wish cameron diaz would
inhale the earth and all humanity she alone is responsible
for spawning in a terrific snort through her nostrils into
another dimension. Sitting here on Tuzrylu 9, I'd then feel
slightly less itchy.
Humans have such cavernous nostrils, I mean, right in the
center of their face. Has anyone else noticed this?
Doesn't it bother you when you, grotesquely I might add,
mate?

That's a Kelly Clarkson CD (winner, apparently, of the
first, maybe second American Pop Idol).

There is a reason why I have it, but it's easier to say it
belongs to my wife. Unfair, but easier.

Venezuela. They're just about to kick off and you can catch
all the action, and possibly my borther in law, by clicking

Oh, my wife is from Chile, and I like it here, so, you know,
in for a penny, out for a penny, or a peso, as the case may
be. Chile Rocks, dudes. I was a bit tired of London, as
well, to be honest.

Are you in an urban part? I have no idea about the
composition of Chile I must admit, I assumed it was a bit
tropical foresty, but I gave up geography when I was 14 so
you know. What's the main language?

Ohhh, you'd be suprised. Well I'm not in the capital, I'm
down in the rainy south. Chile is one of the thinnest yet
longest countries in the world, starting from the Atacama
desert in the north, right down to the Antarctic. Umm, but
it's only ever about 200km wide, bordered, of course, by the
Andes mountains and the Pacific ocean. So there's all sorts
of landscapes and that, in between. I am in a town though,
in a very non descript new built housing estate. But you can
see, you know, nice things not very far away. But it is
quiet, I'll say that.

Absolutely fuck all. Quite seriously.

I'd be keen to have that on DVD. I know poor old Terry Scott
was much maligned in later years as fashions changed, but,
his boyish humour, his cheeky face, come on. The peerless
June Whitffield of course. And that brutal slice of suburban
expose. Something to savour.

I had to think about that for a minute, nice gag! They are
actually, as far as I can gather, the horses of some wild
neighbours that live on some open ground near by, so, a bit
of both. I don't mind them eating the grass it's just the
gifts that they might leave behind. Though that's good for
the grass,or is it, so, well, everybody's happy, I guess.

Memo to self: Buy fence.
