well the search function is down, so i can't be certain that this record hasn't been mentioned... hell it's possible i've even already made a thread about it... but i don't think so...
anyhow... it really really owns... very beautiful stuff... if you are a fan of fennesz, or similar blissed-out guitar drone stuff... you ought to check it out... link, link, link, (they all seem to dig it too)

sounds good..i'll look it up!
btw, i've seen a great gig last night - nobukazu takemura with anna mizoguchi. they had 4 laptops, a guitar, percissions and xylophone in the setup and anna also did some vocals. it sounded much like that live tokyo thing with jelinek and computer soup. extremly minimalistic and quite fennesz like at times..check them out if they come your way, you won't be disappointed :)

hmm... that's interesting... i'm pretty sure they were in the middle of some sort of "Japan Society" concert last week in NYC... i'm wondering if Otomo Yoshihide and the rest of the performers followed them across the Ocean this week... sounds sweet anyhow... you get so many nice shows, and i never get anything... :(

otomo yoshide did a solo lap top thing about 10 days ago and then another gig with the jazz enseble the next day.
there's a big festival of japanese culture through all the year overhere and they all perform as a part of that.
im seeing marc ribot and henry grimes next week. (not a part of the japanese festival though :)

uh oh!! i love it! doesn't sound much like fennesz to me though, i like fennesz but this is way better..not noisy..sort of dubby ambient with occasional guitar sounds. track 2 is super sweet!!

yeah, it's not really like fennesz... fennesz is just a handy name to throw out to make people listen to stuff that they bloody well ought to... :)

you recommended this fellow a while ago indeed, but that album was way more minimalistic than this one..it was the one i said i could barely here a sound here and there. this on the other hand is awesome!

are you sure you aren't thinking of Steve Roden? i have recommended Oreledigneur before, which is Giuseppe Ielasi and Renato Rinaldi (and on the first album Alessandro Bosetti<-- and the first album is a lot more difficult than the second), but that's not really too too minimal... i'm pretty sure you might've given it a try, but i think you should maybe give it one more listen if you can
:)
