That would be the best solution yeah, but it seems that this
would still miss a listing as "Autechre - That" or something
similar...which means I have to end up widening my search,
which in turn gives loadsa results...and I'm a busy man, I
only managed to come across this one by fluke...(!)

it is LOGICAL to decide HOW MUCH you want to pay and then
bidding once. it is ILLOGICAL to make little tiny bids. you

are just potentially INCREASING the price you will ahve to
pay if you win. seriously. fucxers.

That's not logical at all! How are you increasing the price
if you bid incrementally? Example, if an auction is at 10
quid, with a high bid of 50 quid already in, then if you bid
52 quid, it jumps to 51 and you win....whereas if you bid
incrementally with a final bid of 52....it jumps to 51 and
you win!! How are you paying more??

In other words, sniping isn't unfair, and nor is bidding
incrementally, as someone earlier said, the highest bid
wins...what's unfair about that??

something can't be 'more fair' or 'fairer' - either it's
fair or not.

he's referring to more than one person doing this, which is
what happens a lot. it's referred to as "emotional bidding"
- people getting caught up in the excitement of bidding and
driving the price up by increments.

up"...surely any bid "drives the price up!"

Ok; I think it is fair but I think that the said suggestion
may be of more benefit to those without broadband etc.
