I used to read those kind of books too, when I was about 12 or 13. they would give me the willies.
stories about spontaneous combustion and people disappearing in Russia and then suddenly re-appearing in Europe three months later, with no recollection of what happened in those months, or about recorded voices of supposed ghosts.
if you like that kind of stuff, you might have seen/still want to see The Stone Tape (it's out on dvd).

Still feels weird though.
There's also a "fairy bridge" on the isle of man. I'm not sure i ever want to go back.

Fairy bridge? Does some little gay goblin leap out and bugger you when you try to cross?

If you don't say hello to the fairies when you cross, yeah! Or something very similar.

"we can't hear vibrations at 7hz but this infra sound can cause heart palpitation, dizziness, loss of balance, nausea, depression, fear, and mood changes. the usual source of infra sound in office buildings is the hvac system. if you suspect infra sound touch the wall. if you can feel a vibration you probably have infra sound. (lyall watson)"
"what would you think if a gaunt pale-skinned loner next door were obsessed with your ten-year-old daughter; stared at her from his window as she played, took nude pictures of her, wrote letters and poems to her, took her on picnics, and spent hours sitting on his couch with her? charles dodgson did all of that with little alice liddell whom he eventually immortalized in his now famous book about "wonderland" using the pseudonym "lewis carroll". "
And loads more gems...
I could read these for hours, check it..

i don't deny the possibility of tangent universes, if those are even supernatural?
read 'the golden compass' from the "HDM" trilogy.
also, when on psilocybe mushrooms, i have been a witness of waves of telepathy when in conversation with a friend. It is the oddest thing imaginable.
When sober, i cant help but thinking 'it was just a warped perception of things' when i really just know it wasn't only that.

don't take any of those little facts as actual.. well.. facts.
common sense alone will tell you that they miss nuances.
for example:
"flying machine one day in 1970 when an air force pilot flying an f106a jet fighter over montana went into an "uncontrollable flat spin", the aircraft took over and 1. ejected the pilot, 2. recovered from the spin, and 3. landed safely all by itself. the craft is on permanent display at the (united states air force museum in dayton ohio)"
but when you follow the link, the story is:
"The aircraft on display (S/N 58-0787) was involved in an unusual incident. During a training mission from Malmstrom AFB on February 2, 1970, it suddenly entered an uncontrollable flat spin forcing the pilot to eject. Unpiloted, the aircraft recovered on its own, apparently due to the balance and configuration changes caused by the ejection, and miraculously made a gentle belly landing in a snow-covered field near Big Sandy, Montana. After minor repairs, the aircraft was returned to service."
the first text suggests that the aircraft ejected the pilot, while the second text suggests that it was the flat spin that created a dangerous situation which forced the pilot to eject.
also "landing safely all by itself" is something different than "made a gentle belly landing" - it's still incredible, mind you, but the first text glosses over a lot of details and tries to make it sound more spectacular.

xltronic hypothetical quiztime:
imagine putting on a costume for a party. when you arrive at the party, everyone reacts to the costume as if you are not wearing a costume at all. in the course of time, you forget that you are wearing a costume. you gradually become the person defined by the costume. you live a new life, devise novel strategies, seek different experiences, evolve different values. you live your life in this costume, marry and have children.
years later you meet a stranger, who demonstrates unequivocably that all you believe you are can be traced to the features of the costume, and to the way that everyone else has reacted to the costume, shaping your identity. at the core of your self-identity is an illusion, a deception, an empty shell, except for the faint, forgotten and distant image of the identity that was replaced with the costume. the stranger also informs you that when your costumed self dies, the faint and forgotten self will continue to exist, but will be too weakened and deprived of will to act, or to choose a new costume. then the stranger offers you the opportunity to replace the costume, and forget that you met him and what he told you. will you accept the offer? just wondering...

I think a better question is: Do you believe in phonomena that cannot be described by math? Absolutely.

Well if you think of math in terms of modeling phenomena then that's true - but it's even true about the most prosaic natural phenomena - they can't be fully described. In order to fully model the universe you need to construct a model of the same complexity - and where would you put it?
"It's only a model"
"shhhh"
But can things be modeled and described within these accepted limitations? Even something completely random can be graphed. The moment humans are aware of a phenomenon their minds attemt to comprehend it and construct a model - even if the model is as flawed as astrology or Dante's circles of Hell.

I can see how some would think the topical question is stupid. If anyting that exists is natrual then the topic reads: 'Do you believe in things that don't exist?' Which is why I stated my other question.
