i worked in a callcenter for 8 months once, it sucked. are
the calls automatically redirected to you, or can you
ol'fashionly pick the phone up (are you a answering robot)?

if there's calls queueing, after the call has ended we go
into call work to finish off typing up the records etc, then
we press "available" and the next one comes through

there's none in the queue atm but there were 130 when I
logged in this morning!

i used to work in one, when there was no queue, if you press
the release button on the phone then press ready again it
puts you to the back of the line for incoming calls, without
putting you in idle time, which was great.

person they spoke to before?

it's one of the most annoying aspects of callcenters - the
anonimity, having to repeat your story over and over.

yay! that's aspect

we used to use those

We have a new system in called rockwell now though and it
sucks 8op

ask for the extension of the person you speak to, and find
out what call centre they are based in. its just as annoying
taking a call like that cos you have to start over, and
don't know how its been left often.
