i've never seen them live before, and am getting all excited about the manchester zoo set on the 16th... is it going to be a confusing experience? i mean, i love both the early and later material.. but the later stuff obviously takes a bit longer to digest. do they play older material too?
if its all new stuff done differently, how does one digest it after only hearing it once? any dancing? or is it all beardy beardy strokey strokey sit down and lets all sit down get stoned?
whatever it's going to be like.. i cant wait
and as much as i like the zoo... SE1 is such a perfect setting, shame london is 4 hours away from me

from what i've seen (heard via mp3 bootleg), very rarely do they play released music.
i'll be able to give you a more -in-depth- insite as to what they play after may 13th.

I'm going to this with a couple of mates on the 16th too. Can't wait. Haven't seen them before either. I think it will be good at Zoo, the boys are keeping it real! (they live in rochdale, down the road right?) Although it's a pretty studenty venue. Bring it on........ w000t

i think the zoo has a bit of a bad reputation so i've heard... last time i was there at a drum n bass night the night was shut down early due to many knobheads causing trouble.

I think Ae like playing live. They told me in a dream.
"We are the Autechre. We like playing live very much."
So moving, I cried into my trousers.

I got my autechre tix, and they're locked away under my pillow until the time that they are needed.
warprecords.com lists SND as opening for Autechre at most of the European shows; is anyone opening for them in the US?

sweet, i didn't see the Rob Hall & SND U.S. listing before. I just recently got into SND, so getting to hear SND + Autechre live will be a double smack of super rock.

I've expierenced live Autechre a few times (Brum with Jega as support MANY years ago, Lighthouse gig, Warp 10yr gig, Bristol, Manchester a couple of times). They used to play studio material mostly mashed up along with some disturbing improvs...disturbing is a positive thing for me though :p
Nowadays it tends to be totally geared to unreleased material. Its great although most people i drag to the gigs hate it :)
I'm going to Nottingham and Manchester cus i am greedy :p
