i think the extended scenes in RoTK weaken the film.

i didn't mind these movies, but they all looked the same,
which is a shame...b/c if you're going to make a huge movie
like this, wouldn't you want each movie to have something
distinct to stand out to the viewer? I mean yes, its cool
they used the same locations and everything, and shot it all
at once....but come on.

I liked them too.

and I don't agree, mr. Shope, I think the extended scenes
help RotK along rather nicely!

I didn't really like the mouth of sauron scene. The mouth
wasn't really intimidating at all.

And, the scene where frodo and sam get captured by the
mordor orks just seemed rushed, and broke the pace of the
film without adding anything really.

i dunno..

Of course, the only time i've watched the extended RoTK was
during my marathon viewing session a couple of months ago.
And, after 10 or 12 hours of straight movie watching I was
probably a bit grumpy.

I've been watching all 3 extended editions each night
starting last saturday. i just watch them in chunks and i
find it quite enjoyable. i really can't imagine i'll ever
sit through all 3 in one sitting though. i think that
could get painfully boring!

They screened the trilogy back to back in the cinema when it
came out over here. It would've been nice to see that.
However, I did my lotr marathon day by day. 12 straight
hours of lotr sounds a bit hectic.

i once watched Episode 4 and Episode 5 simultaneously on 2
T.V.'s we would have watched Episode 6 but we didn't have
another VCR. afterward, we taped up our spectacles and
watched "Monte Python's Holy Grail" and recited all the
dialogue and then went to a comic book/star trek convention!

worst movies ever. the third one had like 4 false fade outs
( where i was relieved the movie was over ) , sadly it was a
false fade out and there were 20-30 minutes left. I ended up
walking out anyways during the 3rd false fade out.
