Most bizarre DVD commentary ever ?

I bought Dodgeball on DVD for my girlfriend, and watched
the audio commentary earlier on, and boy was it a strange
one. The film is by first-time director Rawson Marshall
Thurber, and stars Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn.

In the commentary, first of all, Stiller is missing, and
Vaughn and Thurber bitch about him (put on I am sure)...
then Vaughn makes the pretence of drinking beer and getting
a bit sozzled, and they start bickering with the Sound
Engineers. They bitch about Stiller and how bad he is, and
finally Stiller arrives and plays up on the whole 'star'
thing etc.... then Stiller and Vaughn gang up on the
director and threatening the sound engineers etc, before the
director says he's had enough and leaves. Then Stiller's PA
says he has to go, and off he trots. THen Vaughn decides to
leave. ... so we're left with all three commentators gone,
and the sound engineers wondering what to do... they discuss
it, and finally they put on the Farrelly Brothers'
director's commentary for There's Something About Mary,
because it stars Ben Stiller... so the second half of the
Director's Commentary for Dodgeball is the first half of the
Director's Commetary for There's Something About Mary.....
very odd.

It's REALLY odd.... there's no explanation or 'this was a
gag' at the end... at the finish, the Farrelly Bros.
commentary just cuts out and the film is over...

How far are ya with my Favour? ;D

the commentary track to "the limey" is a weird one too.

you hear the director Steven Soderbergh talking to the
writer, who is bitching about Hollywood. then you hear bits
of conversation run through it. it keeps doing weird things
like that.

the commentary track with the actors, including Terence
Stamp also has weird stuff - bits of old newsreel sound cut
into it.

at first I thought this was a misprint, but then it occurred
to me the "style" of the commentary track kind of mirrors
the whole fragmented, jumping back and forth in time-thing
the film itself has. and then suddenly the commentaries made
more sense.

F'n A !

btw, Dodgeball is so hilarious - we saw it in the cinema and
the whole place erupted with laughter so loud that the
screen split into two and a bunch of gremlins came through
and terrorised the entire watching community.

I don't know, but it's an uncomfortable listen, specially
when one of them keeps saying it's all an allegory and some
other chap tries to eplain what an allegory actually is yet
his be-boozled brain won't quite let him. But why is it
there? I don't know.
